I come here frequently, several times a week at least, and I absolutely love the delicious coffee and expertly crafted pastries. But the staff is so unbelievably unfriendly, condescending, disinterested and incompetent that I have to literally prepare myself before walking in. There tends to be a vibe of boredom and laziness, as though there isn’t a manager present. They do typically get my order correct, but they seem so overwhelmed, inconvenienced and annoyed by my presence, and they take so, so, SO long to pour a coffee it defies logic. This isn’t one person on one occasion, it’s the general vibe of the entire store, every time I go. It feels like a gen z mean girls parody. It is deeply unpleasant and the diametric opposite of customer service. Today I admittedly tripped over my words when ordering and there was a small miscommunication. No less than three employees sprung immediately to attention to chastise me for ‘taking the wrong coffee’ (which, lo and behold, was indeed the correct coffee). They quite literally crowded together and stared at me… then rolled their eyes at each other. I instinctively apologized (because I did, in fact, misspeak after all!) but they were too busy correcting me and defensively explaining why I was wrong. All three of them. I tried to quietly leave as fast as possible without being further humiliated. My daughter who is visiting was so mortified and stunned by the interaction, she initially thought it was some sort of prank/joke.
If their coffee and pastries weren’t out of this world, I’d save myself the misery of of these painful interactions and go to one of the dozen other coffee shops in the area, many of which have...
Read moreLet me start by saying I have been visiting seven stars for many many years, I used to frequent the broad way store, before Cranston opened. If im being candid, the staff at the Cranston store is just OK. There are a few superstars, but the rest are mediocre at best. There is a woman last month, whom, I had asked about a catering order, and she told me I was asking to many questions. Last week, while in there, the gentleman waiting on me, was extremely unplesant, and Yesterday, while standing in line, I observed a worker, fluff his hair, wipe his nose and rub his face multiple times while waiting on customers. He did not wash his hands after doing these motions, he kept on serving and flipping his hair, wiping his nose/face ect. When it was my turn to be waited on, I proceeded to let the couple behind me go in front. Needless to say they were less then thrilled as they had also observes what I did, and were making comments about it. I did bring it to the attention of the woman waiting on me and she laughed. Not exactly the response I expected. All in all, it's a de ent bakery, priced a bit high, but just ok in the...
Read moreWent in to try the new Cranston location, while I was disappointed as usual at the lack of sandwiches they have remaining around lunch, I settled on a delicious almond chocolate croissant I've tried at their other locations. The croissant sadly was burnt beyond being edible. Why the five star review? The following customer service was exceptional. I sent an email through their website with photos, within days I received a phone call from CEO Randy Mason himself offering me a refund and credit to my rewards card. He was pleasant and dedicated to a regular customer. I do not recommend scamming a decent local company for their generosity. They deserve better. The people who served the croissant were also bright and warm, making the interaction in store happy as well, wish I had their names.
Worth mentioning that I'm fairly certain they use a single distribution center for all their stores, so it isn't the quality of the cranston store in particular I would worry about. In addition, I often order these croissants as a treat and rarely have an issue...
