La Torta loca — Restaurant in Crescent Springs

After begging my co-worker to give it another shot (he got food poisoning last time from the carnitas), four of us came for lunch. We were the ONLY table in the entire place. Our entire table ordered a total of 11 tacos, nothing special, just tacos. 10-15 minutes AFTER placing the order the waiter came back to inform us that they were out of lengua, so my co-worker ordered a different protein. After waiting and waiting, confused on what was taking so long, we eventually had to get up to ask where our food was because it was going on 40-45 minutes of being there. Two more small tables came in within this time. Our food finally comes out at the same time as the other tables, cold and barely filled with anything in the taco shells. We were never given an apology for the delay and the waiter never came back to check on us except to clear plates. We know that this place is notorious for being slow, but when we are the only table and there are at least 4-5 employees working, it is absolutely unacceptable considering how much they are charging for underwhelming cold tacos. We went to this restaurant based on the high reviews. We were surprised to find that there wasn't more variety. For example you don't have an option for nachos, fajitas, or basically a full meal. It's kind of like an a la carte basic menu: tacos, quesadillas, burritos, tortas, and empanadas. We were out of $68 for 3 people. We ordered non alcoholic drinks, an appetizer,my daughter had 3 tacos ($14.25), my fiance and i ordered burritos ($13/each). These items are not served with beans, rice, fries, or any sides. Ok, the food here is incredible. Seriously! I've had take out once, and eaten in twice. Just today I had the LaMexicana sope - holy crap it was tasty. On the down side, I feel like this restaurant is still maybe getting up and running in the service department. We were seated quickly, got our drinks, and ordered. Overall, though, I feel like they were a bit slow. They had two people waiting on tables, but it wasn't busy at all. When we were seated, we were only one of 3 customers.
