I ordered a Mongolian Beef combo plate on July 31, 2024. I was tempted to get food elsewhere after I ordered my food and was told that it would come to $12 and some change. I have never spent more than $10 for a combo plate, but I had already given my order and I thought I’d give China King a try since they switched to new management. I was asked what side I wanted to go with my combo plate and I told the lady taking my order that I wanted an egg roll. I waited for approximately 10 minutes while they cooked my food and boxed it up to go. Once I got to my destination and popped open the top of the container my food was in, I was surprised to see the smallest portion size of food I’ve ever received from a Chinese restaurant. To make matters worse, the Mongolian beef did not look like what I was used to, I was given a spring roll instead of an egg roll, and I was disappointed that I paid $12 for what I got. I called the restaurant to ask if they were out of egg rolls since that’s what I ordered but got something different. The woman, who I assume is one of the owners, said they did have egg rolls. I asked if they sold spring rolls as egg rolls, and she said they had both. So I explained to her that I had just ordered food from there 20 minutes before, and a spring roll came with my dinner plate instead of an egg roll. She told me that egg rolls were a side option and they hadn’t run out of them that day, but she couldn’t tell me why she gave me something other than what I ordered. Trust me, I asked her and she just kept repeating that they had both egg rolls and spring rolls. I told her that I ordered an egg roll, which she remembered, but she gave me a spring roll anyway. I will never eat at China King again based on the price of the combo meals, the portion size, the Mongolian beef that didn’t taste like Mongolian beef, giving me whatever side they felt like giving me, and the customer service.

The chicken wings were great. However, when making a carryout order through the online ordering, I ordered the “special” which was advertised as noodles, meat, etc. as the picture/description attached shows. When I got home, I realized I had received egg foo young with shrimp. I called the store and they told me they would remake it, but what I ordered on their end showed as egg foo young. Clearly the picture and description are incorrectly attached to this item. I didn’t have them remake it because it was storming and I’d have to drive back, though it was nice of them to offer. They just need to update the online menu so this mistake doesn’t happen again.

Stopped for takeout on a Monday night. The chef was the only person working: Service was excellent, food was outstanding. Their roasted pork fried rice is the best fried rice I've ever had. The Mongolian beef was nicely seasoned: spicy but also very flavorful with an even blend of green and yellow onions. Very reasonable prices, and fast. Nice decor, cozy ambiance, with new and impeccably clean tables.

I am looking at all the good reviews here and am wondering if I just arrived on a bad day. The staff was VERY friendly and helped me rectify some mistakes I had made with online ordering. Having said that, I ordered Sweet and Sour Pork with Chicken Fried Rice. When we got home, there was no Sweet and Sour Sauce with our order. I was annoyed. Update: Changing to 5 star review. I couldn't get the craving for Sweet and Sour Pork out of me, so I decided to get some again today (23rd April, 2023). This time I phoned them with my order and told them that I had not received my sweet and sour sauce with my last order. Well bless his heart, he remembered me (I have an accent). He asked me what he could do for me today and I said I just want some sweet and sour sauce with my pork today. "We gonna make it up to you today!" he chirped. Well, who wouldn't start laughing at that. I went home with lots of pork and rice and an eggroll AND that all important sauce. Oh, it was delicious! And I was happy. Where else do you get all that lovely food for...

This was my go to place back when I lived in the area 8 yrs ago. We are now out in High Ridge and I have been craving chinese the choices by our house have been majorly disappointing. So I decided to stop back by here on my way home from work for some takeout. I got home and realized the food was different from before and was kinda bummed but then I ate it and all I can say is WOW!!! The fried rice was so flavorful and fresh. The general tsos was good chunks of tender meat in a crunchy coating and the sauce was sooo good! I usually am a hardcore sweet over savory crab rangoon gal but I was pleased with their crab rangoon. It was comfortably in the middle. My son had the beef and broccoli and he said it was fresh and delicious. My husband said the egg rolls were some of the best he has had in awhile. We will definitely be back and making this our go to place even though its not as close as other places to us:) Everyone in there was also very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. it was a bit more pricey than most but the freshness and taste of the food...
