Pickleman's Gourmet Cafe — Restaurant in Creve Coeur

Do not EVER EAT HERE!!!! You’ve been warned. They served me food that gave me food poisoning and I have never been so sick in my life!!! I contacted them to tell them of my experience and in a long winded email they dismissed me as if I was lying about getting sick off their food!!!! I had the worst sweats , vomiting and diarrhea (all at the same time) that I have ever had in my life!!!!!I had to deal with this while being on the job as I was at work . I immediately started getting sick after I ate their lunch!!!!! I was in too bad condition to drive home ,and I did not want locked in a hospital so I elected to not call an ambulance. I suffered at work for hours with food poisoning!!! How embarrassing ! Do you think Pickelmans offered any kind of compensation for almost killing me with bacteria laced food ???? Nope!!! Instead they acted as if it must of been something else when I hadn’t eaten any else that day!!!!!! They offered me a long drawn out email lecturing me on how they check their temps of hot food items and did an investigation of themselves and found themselves to have done nothing wrong. This was my 1st time at this establishment & I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered over the phone & did Curbside Pickup. I ordered 2 BLT sandwiches & Garlic Cheese Bread & some Choc Chip Cookies. The sandwiches were not the size that I was expecting, but it was filling & very tasty. The Garlic Cheese Bread was some of the best I have had at any restaurant period!! It wasn't too cheesy or garlicky & wasn't overbaked👍. The Marinara Sauce was very flavorful & robust, tasted homemade, very fresh. My only complaint with it is it was a tad too garlicky(just my opinion). The Choc Chip Cookies completed the meal nicely, fresh & homemade, they were the perfect size not too big & not too small & not overly loaded w/ Choc Chips, they had a nice portion for the size of the cookie. Overall I felt the food was a lil' overpriced compared to other establishments with similar menu items, but the food was good & filling & I would visit again with no problem or hesitation. This was my first time ordering. I ordered online. Website was easy to use. But I have to say the pictures of the food and what you actually get are way off. Know I know the pics in the website are made to look fantastic. I get that. But what you get just doesn't add up.

I ordered the turkey bacon on white with extra turkey at an extra charge. I'm glad I did since double turkey isn't really all that much. Now the actual size, it's SMALL! Maybe 6" tops. Everyone laughed at the size of the sandwich and at what I paid.

There is no value in their food. Oh, I ordered a half pickle. You would think with the name "Pickleman's" that it would be their gimmick and include a pickle. Nope. You pay for one if you want one. Then a WET pickle was wrapped in paper. Totally soaked through. Just bad packaging IMPO.

They do a decent amount of business. I see delivery cars all over Creve Coeur. Maybe I got an employee who was hungover or hates their job or some other wacky reason.
