The Good: Front desk ladies, was clean, Starbucks, courtyard with tables, chairs, fire pits, balcony or patio rooms, there's a First Watch and a Drury Inn nearby. The Bad: My husband booked through Expedia for my daughters and I, sight unseen. He tends to like Courtyards and we've stayed in several others. Never again after this. Didn't go with the Drury bc they only had a King room with a sofa bed. I would have gladly slept on that pull-out couch had I known what this place would offer. When we arrived I was instantly disappointed bc it looked like a motel or apartment complex and it was under construction. If I'd known what my husband paid, I would have left and asked to be refunded. In the lobby was a table with free mini bottles of water and a basket of earplugs. 🚩🚩 The lady checking me in was friendly and said that breakfast was included. The layout is weird. A rectangle around a courtyard, of course. This means longer than usual hallways. Problem for those with any mobility issues depending on your room's location. The floors are confusing. Is the lobby on the first floor or the 'G' floor? And the courtyard, Floor 1 or floor G? There's no pool, no restaurant and no continental breakfast. Ok, fine. But charge accordingly! I've stayed in enough hotels/motels to know that the quality of the elevators, room and bathroom doors, headboard, furniture, coffee maker, toiletries and lack of decor make this place feel like a 2 star hotel or motel. Again, fine, but let your price reflect that! Not one picture on our room walls. No microwave. Courtyard needs some help with run off causing mud to be on walkways. The Ugly: I just went down for this free breakfast and noticed only 3 guests in the 'breakfast area'/lobby at 8:15 on a Sunday. No counters or tables of food, just the Starbucks counter and breakfast menu on the wall. I was confused and asked the lady behind the counter, "Is breakfast included?" She said it depends on what you paid for your room. What? Weird. Gave her my room # and last name. Nope. Not on her list of approved guests. So I went to the front desk to ask, confident that it was a mistake considering what we paid. No mistake. No breakfast for you! I asked why. Who gets breakfast included in their stay and who doesn't? How is that determined? We paid $181. For a place that should charge about half that amount and you're telling me that's not enough to get some breakfast? Here's the punchline....! Only bc he booked it through Expedia. But did you not get any of our $$? Unbelievable. Make it make sense. You know what? I wanted to eat at First Watch anyway, but that's just wrong. Unfair and ridiculous!! I've stayed at places that were cheaper, not as nice but they had a pool and free breakfast. I've stayed at places that were much nicer, had all the things and were less than $181! GO...
Read moreThe attitude of the lady at the check-in counter set the tone for this review. I arrive at the counter and instead of her greeting me, I had to greet her (always a sign of bad customer service to follow). Makes me feel like I should apologize for being there and giving you my business. I was using my sister's discount code to book the room, as she is a Marriott employee as well. Figured I'd save my company some money. Unfortunately, I forgot to print out the document that needs to be provided upon check-in. If it was up to the employee, our interaction ends there and I can figure out alternate accommodations. Luckily, I was able to think of another solution. I asked her if it was possible to email it to her, to which she responded, "I've been having issues with receiving emails with those documents attached." Just with THOSE documents attached, I guess!! Go figure! I sent it anyway, because it's 9PM and I don't have many, if any, other options. We wait for 15 minutes in awkward silence, when finally I ask her for a third time if she's received it yet, to which she gives the usual "Not yet" response. At this point I tell her to just please utilize my same reservation with whatever the retail rate is because I've just been on flights for the past 7 hours and would like to get my room and get to bed. As soon as I say this, the email magically appears in her inbox!! Problem solved! I then ask her if I can grab my complimentary bottles of water, to which she responds, "When you use this rate, you don't get any of the benefits of your Gold Elite status." I've not the energy to fact check this, so I pay for my two bottles of water and go on my way. She also informs me that for using this discount code I won't get my Marriott points either (I got them deposited into my account two days after checkout). Makes me wonder about the water. She also failed to explain how to get to my room. This hotel has a very awkward layout, so unless you're well versed with it, it can be rather tricky to find your room initially. Luckily, I didn't have to make the long trek back to the front desk because I was able to ask another guest in the hallway, and he pointed me in the right direction. Besides this, the room was clean and basic. Exactly what you'd expect from a hotel of this "caliber". Due to the customer service though, suffice to say, I'll be taking my business elsewhere the next time I'm in town...
Read moreThis hotel is under renovation and is overpriced for what amenities that they have.||||We stayed 4 nights in a newly renovated room, which overall was ok. It was lacking a microwave and a hair dryer. Also, though the rooms (or at least some of them) have patios or balconies, they either didn't have a patio pad and/or had no furniture to enjoy the outdoors.||||The hotel describes having a courtyard to enjoy the fresh air and the firepit(s), but the furniture was dusty, furniture was missing cushions, and the firepits weren't operating. There once was a pool at this hotel, but it is no longer. They do have a small fitness center, which I believe they are expanding.||||This hotel doesn't offer a free breakfast. They do have breakfast options available to purchase, though we choose to just go out to eat since there are many better options available close to the hotel.||||Housekeeping is offered every 3rd night and getting additional towels is a hassle. You call, then you bag up your dirty towels and set them outside your room door, and then you wait for staff to deliver you clean towels (which wasn't a speedy process when we requested additional towels). There are only two small trash cans and one small recycling can in the room, so I recommend asking the front desk for extra trash bags when you arrive so trash doesn't collect around your room.||||Currently, finding a parking spot can be difficult since some spaces are being used by the construction companies.||||During our 4 night stay, the guest laundry room was not operational. This was a problem for us since we needed to wash game uniforms. The front desk gave us a name of a local laundromat, but didn't provide directions or anything. Just left us to Google it for more information and directions. ||||On a positive note, all the staff (that we had interactions with) were friendly.||||Overall, the price of a room at this hotel is is too expensive for the amenities that are currently offered and for the amenities that will be available after the renovation...
