Taichi Bubble Tea - Crofton Station — Restaurant in Crofton

So where to start- I will say that some of the staff working there gave the vibes of not wanting to be there. I asked a question about one of the food items, and when the cashier asked a member in the back about it- said member that answered looked irritated about me asking a question and gave me a not so pleasant stare.

Second of all, the entire time I was there waiting for my drink and food, the music playing in the establishment was nothing but full of racial slurs and profanity (this makes me not want to bring my family here for a treat). Now I don’t have an issue with the type of music people listen to, BUT in this situation- it is NOT work appropriate (it seems like I’m not the only customer who has expressed this particular matter based on other reviews).

Lastly, I will say that the food was good and tasty, BUT the taro milk tea was disappointing. What I received was watered down taro milk tea with boba. To say that the drink wasn’t even drinkable, therefore I didn’t even end up drinking it (so that was a...

Waited a long time for this place to open. Unimpressed… First woman behind counter knew pretty much nothing. Didn’t know what type of place it was (Japanese/Korean etc..) Asked her what difference was in broth for Ramen and she had no idea. Asked her what kind of beef and pork it was and was it tender? She said “ohh I don’t know”. Asked her was dish cold or hot she said sorta hot. She couldn’t distinguish between dishes. Suggest way more training! Now to the food. Got the chicken Ramen bowel. Ummm yeah NO! Cooking the chicken is one thing, but being able to put shoelaces in it and wear it on my feet is another! Not much flavor and way too much salt! Let’s move on to the bubble tea. Too watery and too much ice and not enough tapioca sadly. So what I ended up with was coconut flavored ice with fat straw. Most places that do food and cafe aren’t very good at one or another. This place is great at both. I had low expectations on the tonkotsu ramen because of previous experiences with cafes serving “tonkotsu ramen”, serving noodles in chicken broth with a piece of pork and hard boiled egg. This ramen was excellent. The broth was rich and flavorful. The noodles had a nice bite and chew, and the toppings were good too. I prefer a richer broth but this broth is rich enough for most people and won’t leave you feeling like you gotta wash it down with water.

I treaded safely and got a taro boba and it was good.
