Hi Friends, Going to give you some tips to know, before you head to Samosa House. I have been going here for the last 6 years. I am finally deciding to never go back. I felt it’s my Duty to let you guys know as well.
Staff is slow and disorganized most of the time, it seems like it’s gotten a little better in the last 6 years but not quite. There is no consistency in Customer Service. I have gotten the 3 item combo and waited 10 to 15 minutes for my Roti. My food was cold by the time I got the Roti. This has happened more often till I voiced my concern. I am on lunch and already am limited on time.
Some items are marked up .50 cents to a dollar maybe even more. It’s not the same as advertised. They will deny that there is any price changes, when you call it out. They say “oh they have mentioned this to the owner as well and lift their shoulders in confusion. “
Last night I grabbed something from the frozen section and half the items were thawed out. I was told a customer perhaps left the door open. That the freezer should start cooling everything soon.
I have witnessed the owners being rude and being bossy to the workers in a demeaning way. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect.
A lot of the items are not priced. I don’t think it’s my job to have to bring one item at a time to find out the price.
They open whenever they please, I waited 30 mins couple of times waiting patiently. There was another man waiting with me as well. He jokingly said they’re running on Indian standard time. Meaning they open whenever they please . Seriously.
One incident I was going to pay for my items, one of the items was marked up. I told the guy I don’t want it. He said he could not remove the item from the POS because the owner was not there and was not shown how to remove the item so I paid the mark up. I didn’t want to be there longer than I had already been. I had to go back to work.
I feel as a customer we have the right to be able to see the price and it should be that price. Once in a while, something like this happens, that’s fine. This is a consistent six year problem. I had faith. I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking they’re making improvements. I was told by one of the owners that. He is aware about the problems. I feel like I’m going to the same place that I did six years ago. I am raising my standards, and I will be taking my time and money where it’s respected . It’s important for customers time and money to be respected and as well as workers to be respected.
Hope this helps you all
Love...
Read moreLocated in the heart of Los Angeles, Samosa House is a culinary haven that promises a delightful journey through the vibrant flavors of Indian cuisine. As a food enthusiast with a love for authentic chaats, I was eager to explore their menu, and my visit to this charming eatery left me utterly captivated.
Upon entering Samosa House, I was immediately enveloped in an ambiance that exuded warmth and authenticity. The menu showcased an array of mouthwatering dishes, but my heart was set on trying their renowned chaats – a quintessential Indian street food experience.
After much anticipation, I decided to indulge in their "Pani Puri" – a delightful chaat that is the epitome of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors. The crispy puris, filled with a savory potato and chickpea mixture, were served with a tantalizing tamarind water that burst with flavors upon the first bite. Each Pani Puri was a delightful explosion of tastes, transporting me straight to the vibrant streets of Mumbai.
However, the extraordinary dining experience at Samosa House was not just about the delectable chaats; it was the impeccable service provided by a waitress named Aisha that truly stood out. With her warm smile and attentive nature, Aisha made me feel like a cherished guest throughout my meal. Her knowledge of the menu and her genuine passion for the cuisine added an extra layer of enjoyment to my culinary adventure.
Samosa House is a testament to the art of crafting authentic Indian dishes with a focus on quality and tradition. Every chaat, especially the Pani Puri, is prepared with care and a commitment to delivering an authentic taste of India.
In conclusion, if you find yourself in Los Angeles seeking a flavorful delight, Samosa House is an absolute must-visit. Their chaats offer a delightful journey through the vibrant flavors of Indian street food. Read moreThis is an awesome vegetarian Indian restaurant and grocery store combo. It’s a fantastic spot for both sit-down dining and takeout, offering a casual yet flavorful experience that caters to a variety of preferences.
The setup for sit-down dining is straightforward: you order at the counter, pay, and they deliver your food to your table. This system works smoothly, and the indoor seating is ample, with a laid-back vibe that’s perfect for a relaxed meal. They offer both a buffet (where the staff serves you) and an à la carte menu, giving you flexibility depending on your mood. The buffet is a great way to sample a variety of dishes, and I appreciated how fresh everything tastes.
However, the real standout for me was their Bombay street food—dishes like samosa chaat and pani puri were bursting with authentic flavors, perfectly spiced, and easily the best part of the menu. The South Indian options, like dosas, were decent but didn’t quite match the street food’s wow factor.
For takeout, Samosa House is an awesome option. Their 32 oz. containers of curry are probably the best value you’ll find in LA—I’ve seen restaurants charge at least double that. The curries I tried, like the jackfruit and matar paneer, were flavorful with a good level of spiciness, and the large containers ensured I had leftovers for days. It’s a practical option for anyone looking to enjoy restaurant-quality Indian food at home without breaking the bank.
The attached Bharat Bazaar grocery store is a huge bonus, offering a wide selection of Indian spices, lentils, and specialty items. It’s one of the largest ethnic stores in LA, and I loved browsing for ingredients like curry pastes and chutneys to take home. The store and dining area are both clean and well-maintained, adding to the overall positive experience.
Overall, Samosa House is a fantastic spot for vegetarian Indian cuisine, whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout. The Bombay street food steals the show, and the value for takeout is...
