I had a horrible experience at this store and will never return. I came in to return a pair of brand-new slippers I bought online for my dad. He only tried them on once at home, but Jonathan at the counter immediately claimed they were “worn.” He treated me with contempt, like I was lying, and even after I explained they were never worn, he said he’d make an “exception.” Why would it be an exception if the shoes were new? Then he refused to process the return and told me to come back another day when the manager was in. I called the 1-800 customer service line right there in the store, sent photos of the slippers, and only after corporate called back did Jonathan finally agree to the return—still with a bad attitude. To make matters worse, another employee, Mourad, came out holding my car keys that I had left on the counter. Instead of simply handing them back, he waved them in my face and rudely said, “Watch out for your own stuff.” His tone was aggressive and condescending, and when I brought the shoes back to the cashier, he started raising his voice at me again. I had to ask him to calm down just so I could speak. He didn’t even look at the shoes before telling me to “come back tomorrow with the manager.” This entire experience left me shaken. I shop here often and have even purchased shoes from Mourad before, but the way I was treated that day was the rudest and most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had in retail. Even after corporate told them to accept the return, I was still made to feel like I was in the wrong. Both Jonathan and Mourad were disrespectful and dismissive. Now it is 2025, and I still remember it every time I pass this store. I’ve never stepped back inside. I go to the TJMaxx next door all the time, but I even avoid walking past this location—I’ll go around the other side just to stay away. If I could give this store a 10 star review, I would, but 5 stars is the highest rating. I have problem feet because one foot always swells. Mourad, who is the best salesman ever, always magically finds me the absolute perfect shoe. I feel like Cinderella after I leave here. He’s amazing and he takes his time to help you with the right shoe. It’s extremely rare to find people like Mourad. He makes you feel very happy to be here because he knows he will delight you with a great and comfortable shoe. If you are happy, he’s happy. All the staff here are super kind and very helpful. The store is beautiful and very clean. They have great sales and I adore their real leather Hobo purses. The prices are very reasonable. Their shoes, sneakers, slippers, boots and sandals are all fabulous. There are so many different selections. It’s the best, bar none. We are lucky to have such a fine shoe store nearby. If you need a great pair of shoes, stop by to see what this wonderful shop has to offer for comfortable and stylish shoes located in this shoe haven. Update: I went to this glorious store again to buy another pair of their fabulous and comfortable New Balance shoes and Angie, the saleswoman, was extremely helpful and gave me quick and exceptional service in finding the pair of shoes I exactly wanted. It’s a must go to shoe store, bar none! Another update today. This time Scott helped me and he did a magnificent job finding me a great pair of sneakers that were exactly what I needed. I'm currently recovering from a foot injury and had a lot of questions about my next steps with regards to my footwear. The first time I stopped by this store was earlier in August. The lady who first assisted me (forgot to get her name but I think she said she also works at the Walnut Creek location) was very helpful with all the inquiries I have about my feet situation. She even encouraged me to try to do the scan which may help me get a feel of what insole might be best for me. I didn't purchase anything at that time because I was in a camboot but left the store feeling seen, heard, and hopeful.

Halfway through my medical leave, I decided to come back since my podiatrist finally gave me a go to slowly ease off the camboot. I immediately went back to the same store location and this time was assisted by Eric. He was so helpful, patient, and encouraging the whole time I was deciding on what shoes to get that will work best with my need.

Overall it was a 20 out of 10 experience as I was met with very efficient, informative, and empathetic staff that genuinely wants to help meet my needs. Just want to take the time to appreciate the staff that helped me at the...
