-DON'T ORDER THE STEAK- We had to send their steaks back....twice. 🤦
My boyfriend saw the reviews on Google and decided that this is where he'd treat my family for our very first family dinner together. He came up to Ohio to meet my family, and ask for their permission, so he was trying to make a good impression. Of course, he made a good impression just by being his wonderful self. The restaurant, however? It definitely flopped.
We would NEVER spend this kind of money, normally. My brother, Dad, and I all got the small plates. We didn't want to be a financial burden. They were filling enough, as is. I got the Salmon. I didn't need the entree. The Salmon was tender and delicious.
Mom and Boyfriend got the steaks. That's where it went wrong. Boyfriend ordered the 12" or 18" $33 steak (tenderloin?) and Mom got the smaller filet mignon entree (similarity priced). We had to send hers back TWO TIMES. I've NEVER seen my Mom send back a meal. Never. 🤦 Boyfriend is a manager at a restaurant and he hated sending the food back. He felt awful, but they mixed up the orders (and he paid kind of a lot for them). She ordered well-done (I know, I know) and it came out pink and medium rare. Austin ordered his medium rare and it came back well done with no pink. If they were the same sized meats, they would've just switched.
... They did the exact same thing twice. TWICE. After waiting, and everyone else almost being finished with their meals, the steaks come back....mixed up AGAIN. Mom's was pinker and even bloodier than the first one! Hers was rare this time. Boyfriend's was well-done, but he didn't want to wait and send it back a second time. It was really disappointing. We look back to this meal and just laugh now at how bad it was. We had a nice time as a family, but BOY was this place a disappointment. That was one of the stories he brought home to his restaurant. Never go to...
Read moreMy Husband and I had been to the lounge but not to the restaurant to eat. We were at the lounge a few weeks ago and really enjoyed the view along with the steak, mushrooms, shrimp and grits. So we wanted to take our Son and Daughter In-Law there for our Son's 30th Bday Brunch. We arrived 15 minutes early since we brought a couple of balloons and Elizabeth greeted us and took the balloons for me so that she could put them out safely, she was very helpful and kind. Our Son and Daughter In-Law arrived at 10:55. We hung out until our name was called at 11am. We were sat quickly, we had a little bit of everything at our table and it was all good. The prime rib was very cool but rare which is what we like and the chef has a pan to cook it more well done if that's what you like. There salmon was good baked and raw too, the cocktail shrimp and sauce was yummy, the omelet station was used by our daughter in law, she had a veggie omelet and it looked wonderful and she confirmed it was real good along with her waffles. The biscuits were good, our Son said the sausage gravy was good, the broccoli salad was tasty and the fresh green beans tasted perfect. Our server's were Gina and Courtney. I didn't get the name of the young lady that filled also came and topped off our waters but she was in black and I believe was a hostess or a manager. Great service especially when they are busy, the desserts we had were cheese cake, chocolate cheese cake and tiramisu. YUM and moo. Our bill was $111.02 and we left a $25 cash tip. Not bad for a good meal that everyone can get what they want and be satisfied for the...
Read moreHaving heard such wonderful things about their Sunday brunch, we were very dissapointed by the food. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, and the service was perfectly fine.
Food Good Points: The Eggs Benedict when we arrived were delicious.
The salad bar was quite good, the cocktail sauce for the shrimp was nice and spicey.
The omelet station was very nice.
The apple minimuffins were outstanding. Dessert was rich and delicious.
Food Not-So-Good Points: The eggs benedict they put out later were awful, it was like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp for 30 minutes, dry and crunchy.
The waffle pieces they had out were awful. Hard as a rock.
Biscuits and eggs benedict were empty for a very long time.
The prime rib was an absolute travesty. I have no idea why they called it prime rib, it seemed more like a round or eye roast that they were slicing thin to compensate for how tough it was, and it was almost completely flavorless. The horseradish sauce was fine, and absolutely necessary given the tastelessness of the meat.
Completely unrelated to food and service, but worthy of note if you're considering bringing limited mobility individuals is that this is not even a remotely appropriate place to bring such a person. While it may technically have accessibility within the requirements of the law, the only practical way to navigate from the dining area to the food is by repeatedly going up and down multiple sets of stairs. Even if one uses what elevators may be present, the space to walk to get to the main dining area has to squeeze between the chairs of...
