I can’t say anything but good about Galiana’s Bakery and Cafe. My wife and I have had breakfast there many, many times, even the first week they opened. Every single time we’ve eaten here someone from staff (mostly management) came to our table to check on us and our meal.
Every time we’ve eaten here we were greeted by friendly staff. The selection menu has some great selections. The select coffee such as a Latte is perfectly made and not harsh. We’ve tried several breakfast items with no disappointments. Great place to start your day!
We had our first lunch here just this week, with out oldest daughter. I was pleasantly shocked at the menu selection. Right away when I saw Shrimp and Grits I closed the menu and placed my order. My wife and daughter had salad and sandwich. So back to the Shrimp and Grits. I’m a Southern boy. I’ve traveled all over this country and even lived in Atlanta, GA (just about the most Southern State you’ll find). In living and traveling throughout the south I’ve had Shrimp and Grits at multiple restaurants. Several specializing in Shrimp and Grits. Well, Galiana’s Bakery and Cafe is the last place I’d ever expect GREAT Shrimp and Grits. But WOW, this dish is one of the best. Smooth and cheesy grits with four nice size Gulf Shrimp. It is served in a small cast iron skillet so be careful, it just came out of the oven. My wife and daughter both tasted the grits and had pretty much the same comment I had... WOW!
So, to finish this great lunch off, I went over and got a nice slice of Cheese Cake to share at our table. Another WOW moment! The Cheese Cake was creamy, moist and soft. The creaminess is unlike other Cheese Cakes I’ve had. And, a large slice makes sure you get enough to share. Another MUS HAVE!
You can’t go wrong with Galiana’s Bakery and Cafe for any meal. We’ll actually be eating breakfast this Sunday (Mothers Day) and picking up one of their homemade Cheese Cakes for Mothers Day....
Read moreI started supporting and coming to this business when it first opened so I can give an honest review on the timeline: the food is fresh and tasty, but not always consistent. There have been times I've gone when the portion sizes are visibly smaller than the previous. They have also raised the prices since when they first opened (which is fine as it is their right to do so) however, the service during week vs the weekends contrasts quite significantly. It tends to get busy so if you come during brunch on the weekends, whomever is at the front checking you out isn't very helpful, we barely ever encounter any smiles, and I've had to ask the same questions repeatedly because they are so backed up that they are talking to each other as well. It's annoying!! When I go during the week, I obviously don't encounter this problem and am asked numerous times, even after my order has been received, if everything is up to par. This past weekend, we were asked if everything was okay once we finished eating..lol. This isn't the first time this happened...I've hosted a baby shower here as well, and I honestly don't think it's the best place. The food took 45 minutes to come out for the entire party (there were 18 of us) we had to go back numerous times to request things (silverware, hot sauce, napkins etc), and I was running around trying to make sure my guests had everything because they messed up on the some of the orders. I mean weekends are busy for most establishments, but I was expecting better customer service. OKAY food wise I do love the deserts, especially the cake - slices around $6-7 per slice and a scoop of ice cream will set you back another $3.25. I wouldn't splurge on the ice cream though. We've tried most things on the menu, and the eggs benedict are pretty good as well as the croissant sandwiches. All in all I would suggest this place for a more upscale sort of brunch, but there are more casual places...
Read moreI literally just stormed out of this establishment so this is super fresh on my mind. I came in at 10am today, party of 3, two adults and one child. We were rated promptly and that’s about where the service stopped. A man with a nice dark collared shirt attempted to take our drink order and we asked if they had Almond milk. He responded by saying that they had an event the evening and he had to check stock so we just ordered chocolate milk. We didn’t see anyone address our table again for another 10 minutes. All the while, large parties were being seated and being attended to with the utmost care. They had drinks, chips, and some were even served food. Out table was still waiting for answer on almond. After the 11 minutes, our server asked if we were ready to order. He did not introduce himself and until now, in retrospect, we didn’t even know he was our server. We started ordering barbacoa, he said they may be out. I then stopped ordering and asked if they had almond milk and to check before we proceeded with ordering. Another 10 ten minutes passed and I had enough. I called for a manager and told what happened and just left. No apologies no anything. They seemed like they didn’t even know what we happening like I just sat down. I’ve never spent 20 minutes seated at a table and only managed to get 2 waters and 1 child’s chocolate milk. Looking at the dining room. There were 3 tables with large parties and my table. So this was during peak at all and in my opinion, completely unacceptable service. If you managed to read this review, I would not dine here and I will not return here to dine. I hope my experience enlightens someone to go somewhere else if you want breakfast or brunch....
