Ly's Kitchen — Restaurant in Cypress

Firstly SO grateful that we finally have a good halal Chinese spot and that too in Katy!!!! The place was FULLY packed! I mention that for all these new businesses staying stuck in sugar land (Side eye 😏). We ordered the Thai chili wings, lo main, spicy Korean chicken, h-style chicken, steak fried rice, chicken stiry fry with scallions, and beef stir fry with scallions. Loved every single item. They are still in the phase of soft opening, therefore, they don’t have all the traditional Chinese items yet but they said they’ll have them all soon. We also loved the meat to vegetable ratio in the entrees, portion sizes, and how the entire entree wasn’t just all “gravy” compared to other halal Chinese restaurants we’ve been to. They also have a wide variety of boba teas but we just didn’t want to ruin our appetite for food so didn’t order any. Definitely give it a try!!! My husband and I went to this place for the first time and it was incredible. All the food is halal and they serve no alcohol and no pork.

Ly’s kitchen might be lying (just kidding) about their name when you show up (because it’s still named Imperial Pho) but they are definitely not lying about the quality and taste of their food (lol). We got chicken dumplings (5/5 stars), hot and sour soup (5/5 stars), chicken corn soup (5/5 stars), garlic butter wings (5/5 stars), and sesame chicken with steamed rice (4/5).

Our server was very nice, courteous, and even packed our leftovers for us. 10/10 would love to return for some more delicious food and excellent service.

I’m still thinking about those chicken dumplings tbh. And on the next visit, I’d try the general tsos or a beef dish for sure. No photos of the food but portion size was very good and overall, it was a delightful...

I’d recommend avoiding this place at all costs. The management is severely lacking in maturity. They couldn’t name this place properly, and as a result, I ended up at the Sugar Land restaurant instead. This Katy location had no remorse, however, and still charged me fully for the meal. The manager was so confrontational over the phone and couldn’t even apologize for the inconvenience that the whole situation put me through.
