My daughter ordered a 10” cake in my favorite flavor lemon for my birthday. Well after my family sang HBD I cut into the cake and thought hmmmm they got me carrot cake but it was actually pumpkin. My daughters immediately said no we ordered lemon. The next morning October 30 she called to let them know that even though they ordered lemon and the box said lemon that we received the flavor that I don’t like at all pumpkin. The manager asked her to return what was left of the eaten on cake to receive the correct one! We explained that it was for a birthday and of course it had been eaten she insisted that it was needed so that she could investigate who placed the wrong cake in the box as though they would know by looking at the eaten cake! I was born at night but not last night. I know if it would have been someone else this would not have been asked to return the cake. We agreed to return what was left to receive our money back. The manager said they would only give store credit! My daughter went around noon today Nov 1 and the manager was out and was told she would have to wait or come back. They took the box with the slice of cake in and through it away. This tells me they didn’t need it for said investigation like I knew. We have been inconvenienced three time. First with the wrong cake, second with returning the cake back to the location, and third by still not having anything resolved because we have to wait for the manager. Read moreBeware of their "Cancellation Policy" - which they do not publish anywhere (on their website, not during the time of order, not during the confirmation email, etc.). I placed an order at this location by accident (placed it at the wrong bakery location) and called them immediately after placing it (they were closed), but there is no option to leave a voicemail. I found their email and emailed them, the next morning - I called them as soon as they opened and the "manager" said the bakers have already started the order and there would be a $10 cancellation fee to cancel the order. I simply agreed to this fee, because I thought this would be posted on their website or order details (anywhere) - I went back through the order details and even tried placing another other (without going through with it), just to see if the cancellation policy is shown. It is not. I emailed them back and they said "Currently it's not posted on our new website. We have been working with corporate to make our cancellation policies more transparent. We are sorry for the inconvenience, and appreciate your understanding. Thank you."
How can they charge cancellation fees without being transparent with their customers on what those fees are? Again, not terribly upset about the $10 per say, but more concerned that they are blind-siding customers by not being transparent on...
Read moreWe ordered an 8 inch cake for our Thanksgiving dessert. We placed our order online on the Tuesday before for pick up Wednesday at 3:45pm as this was their latest available time since we got off of work at 4pm and would make it to the store by 4:15pm.
On Wednesday, we received a voicemail left at 3:40pm stating the order was ready for pick up and that the store closed promptly at 4pm. We of course were unable to pick up our order.
The store called us the Friday after Thanksgiving and asked if we were going to pick up the order. I explained the reason why it was not picked up and that since the holiday was over, we no longer wanted it and requested a refund. The caller informed me we would be getting a response via email.
They offered to refund the money but with a $10 cancellation fee or store credit. They also stated their holiday hours are posted on their door, but how is someone supposed to see these hours if they made an online order? Yes, their website states the holiday may affect hours, but of course they do on the holiday. A simple phone call earlier in the day to inform us they closed at 4pm would have avoided all of this.
