Our experience at this restaurant was underwhelming. It was our first visit, and unfortunately, it didn’t meet expectations. The server did not speak English, making communication difficult, and they forgot to bring the soup that was supposed to accompany the calamari. Even after reminding them, the soup arrived late, after the rolls had already been served. The server seemed rushed and eager to take the next order, which felt a bit pushy.

The food was the biggest disappointment. The calamari was slightly overcooked, leaving a bitter aftertaste. The soup was bland and lacked flavor. We did enjoy the Hawaii roll—the concept was creative, but the execution was messy. The Hot Mama roll was decent, with a nice touch of spice. However, the SM roll was inedible; we could only take one bite. It had an unpleasant smell, like raw egg or improperly fried rice, which made it hard to stomach.

When we asked the server for a recommendation for a traditional roll, she suggested the SM roll, which turned out to be a huge letdown.

If you’re planning to visit, perhaps try other items on the menu. Unfortunately, the dishes we chose didn’t leave a...

My wife and I went to eat a Sapporo’s for lunch. We sat at the Hibachi bar/grill and ordered chicken and shrimp. 30 min later we had a $90 dollar lunch tab without alcoholic beverages. I asked the waiter why was our bill so high and she replied. I’ll get my manager. The manager comes over and brings the menu and starts pointing at what we ordered. I said I can see and know what we ordered. The scam here is that if/when you order chicken & shrimp with fried rice and vegetables. The are in essence ordering 2 separate meals which is absolutely ridiculous and the biggest scam I’ve ever seen. Typically and extra side of protein is between $3-$6 dollars in any restaurant. The menu is very deceptive so please BEWARE of the scam here. The manager sits outside smoking cigarettes waiting to come in and point out the menu verbiage as soon as You contest the bill! Poor customer service and deceptive practices shouldn’t be welcome in our communities. I stopped all of my employees from going there to eat because of it. Thank you for listening and hop you share your story on this platform if the same thing or worst has happened to you...

Great patio! $7/6 piece shrimp shumai was too tiny (but DELICIOUS), and took FOREVER for them to bring out my octopus salad... meaning we were DONE with our meal, and I had to go inside to ask if my SALAD was ready yet (it's pretty much a SMALL SAUCER of just cucumbers, octopus, & sauce). EVERY staff member was doing NOTHING when I asked (and they were all facing the patio window that we were at). Waitress blamed it on a shift change, but I saw 2 wait staff and 2 people at the sushi bar (where they prepare that type of salad) doing NOTHING. By the way, we were the only patrons there (early afternoon), so it wasn't busy. They should've done the right thing and comped the octopus salad ($8), like I would have done if I innocently forgot to put in any order to the chefs. My sister and I ordered the same octopus salad, but they gave us 2 totally different dishes with the same core ingredients and claimed that it's the same dish... but the 2 chefs prepared it differently. However, they tasted and looked TOTALLY DIFFERENT. I didn't like the version they gave me. I ordered mine after tasting my sister's, which...

A slew of Japanese steakhouses have opened up in the Cypress area & I've popped in to see how they stack up. I'm pleased to say that the execution at the hibachi grill was excellent. The miso soup though it may look underwhelming, was wonderfully rich and flavorful. The sushi (S&M roll) was well done and didn't fall apart at the slight introduction of soy or from sitting long on the plate. The quality of the chicken and steak used is why I gave it the 5 stars. If they keep this key part in their cooking I will keep coming back. Price is comparable to other JSH's. The ambiance is nice and looks like a good happy hour or post work place to eat.

Our family had wanted to try Sapporo for a while now, but with other Japanese options closer to us, we hadn't until this trip. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and we found the rooms warm and inviting. The service was also very good as we were given refills on empty drinks pretty quickly. The only downside really was the food. I had a salmon bento box and the fish was overcooked and instead of cooking it with the sauce, they just squeezed it on as an afterthought. My son had the chicken katsu curry and said the curry was very weak. I am glad we finally tried Sapporo, but unfortunately, there are better options close to us.

I'm giving 3 stars because my meat was perfect at the hibachi. But our cook was rude. My 1st time going my daughter said it was cool and funny. Well we got complete opposite. Rude stiff cook and. I think he might have even yelled at us. Plus the price for combo was like ordering 2 separate dinners for one person. A little confusing. $200. for 4 people?. I don't know if that's a little pricey like i said it was my 1st but last time there.
