Walking in the door you are greeted by cliche southern country decor trying to go for deep backwoods charm in an almost desperate attempt to try to convince you it really ISN'T a corporate chain restaurant. (Think Cracker barrel decor on crack. ). That being said, it's still kinda fun to see everything that's going on all over the ceiling and walls, and there is a LOT.
You will immediately find yourself in front of a large menu board and counter, where you are expected to place your order. This seems to be the thing I saw most people that visit were confused/bothered by - you can eat in if you want, but orders are taken at the counter before you sit.
They never really set the clear expectation of what their table service consists of, so it's kind of confusing and awkward. Food and drinks will be brought to your table and they will refill your drinks (if they even bother to notice - the coke machine is easily accessible for patrons though if needed but I'm not sure if we're supposed to use it ourselves), but that is really all the begrudging service they will offer you there (at least that's how it was the last 3 times I visited.). You are supposed to clear your own table - we figured that part out pretty easily.
Staff seem young, bored, and happy to do only the bare minimum definition of "provide service". I heard a few people around us use the word "rude", but I wouldn't go that far. From other reviews, I would comfortably say service can be hit or miss.
Food is not bad and can be a little pricey- ribs and pulled pork can tend to he a little on the dry side but their sides are ok. They do have daily specials for reasonable prices and I like their $5 carryout special (Jr pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw and beans) when available. Their bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers are amazing. I like the breading they use for their fried okra but HATE that they ask you if you'd like ranch with it and then charge you $0.70 for the option without saying it's an additional charge. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
They have about 6-7 different sauce choices on the table for you to try with varying degrees of heat and sweetness but their "Tractor Grease" is the one they give you when you get takeout unless you ask for a different type.

Read moreI’ve had the Triple Threat Dips with Chips 4 times recently. The first time they were great. The guac and pico were fresh, the queso really good. I thought about the guacamole a few times that week.
The second time, they didn’t send the chips, just dip. Since I didn’t want to eat it with my fingers, it didn’t do me any good. Too top it off, DoorDash only gives you $3 back off of this $12 item when they don’t send you one of the main parts.
The third time, they remembered the chips, but alas, the pico was fermented and fizzy. When I touched the lid, it actually popped off in the air a couple of inches. That pico was peak no.
The fourth time, we’re back to dip with no chips. I didn’t even bother to look at the dip. I’ve learned my lesson.
The quality of food in other items in our order tonight was also lower than all of our previous orders. I don’t know if they have new cooks or what, but there has been a very...
Read moreWe were there for lunch. The portions on the lunch plates were generous. I got the brisket sandwich plate and my wife got the pulled pork. The sides we got were Cole slaw(2), french fries and fried okra. The sandwiches were served served on garlic Texas Toast, rather that buns, which toasted just right. They served a 1/4 lbs. of meat on each sandwich. We had the Fried Dill Pickle appetizer. The were battered in a corn meal batter and fried just right. They came with Ranch dressing, a but disappointing given I don't like ranch dressing. I used thier mustard BBQ sauce which was good. They had a total of 7 house sauces, including the above mentioned mustard and thier verison of an Alabama White Sauce. They have a hot sauce that was hot and tasty. The rest were all flavorful and there were so many to fit any taste.
We'll...
