Somehow my review from 2018 got removed, so Iâm happy to leave it again.
This business is on the historic square and has items lining the sidewalk. My family of four was walking on the public sidewalk past this business when my two (2) year old Daughter reached out and touched a concrete bird bath that is literally ON THE SIDEWALK.
The onslaught of meanness that ensued from the shop owner was impressive. We weâre yelled at, berated, and, ultimately, the cops were calledâŚnot by us (the subjects of a verbal tirade) but by the lady who owns the shop.
Yes, she called the cops on our two-year-young Daughter and we HAPPILY awaited the Officerâs arrival. In fact, we dedicated the time to wait there until he arrived.
After listening to both parties, the Officer suggested that we report this issue to the City as situations like this occur frequently and are a black eye to this community.
Were we customers? No. Simply pedestrians on a public sidewalk enjoying a sunny dayâs stroll along the historic square of a quaint North Georgian town when we were aggressively pursued as we moved past this shop.
Am I bitter? HmmmâŚnah, not reallyâŚI do embrace forgiveness. But when you see something, say something. I saw something, Iâm...
Read moreMe and my fiance came to this beautiful town as a little day trip. Literally every store in this town square sells hot chocolate and coffee. We had already been walking down the street with a latte. We tried walking into this store despite the doors not opening fully from so many items packed inside this store. How it passes any fire code is surprising to me. We finally made it inside after helping a poor lady with a stroller trying to exit in a hurry. I understood why she was in a hurry once we got inside. The man at the counter in the back of the store yelled we canât bring someone elseâs coffee into their coffee shop. The store says antiques on the outside with a small sign that says âcoffee break.â My fiance responded with ânone of this shit is for sale?â A woman responded that itâs all for sale, but they have to make money! I told her we buy an ornament at every location we visit, but they wouldnât get our business. We walked out and she followed behind us telling us we must forgive her son because he had Parkinsonâs and she has cancer. Iâm truly sorry if thatâs true, but itâs time to pack up shop if this business isnât bringing you joy. Seriously a dark blemish on such a beautidul small town...
Read moreJust had the best experience here chatting with Jeff and his mother, felt like we made a new friend. Charming coffee shop with delicious baked items from a local farm. Had some great decaf and perusing the huge variety of fun items for inside as well as outside and felt like I was in the Garden of Eden, looking at the magical green thumb work that had placed all the beautiful plants and garden art and whimsical concrete decorations. Was driving by and had to come back....so glad we did. Can't wait to come back for Halloween and Christmas! đđ Also, he has great stories and has been visited by Frank and Mike from American Pickers, soooo cool! Check out the pictures near the register đ
Please don't let the unkind reviews scare you off, these were such kind people and we anticipate staying in touch. I don't know why some folks feel the need to tear people down and try to destroy their livelyhood just for sport, says a lot about the reviewer's questionable character and I wish I could review them! Cowardly keyboard warriors. Really dislike mean spirited people. Let's support local businesses and build people up. We all need support...
