This bed and breakfast in Dahlonega, Georgia exceeded our expectations during our recent stay. My friend and I chose this spot for a low-key bachelorette weekend – I traveled from Pensacola, FL, and she from Knoxville, TN. It was our first time visiting Dahlonega, and we were fortunate to discover this inn online.
Darcy and Mark, the hosts, were incredibly accommodating, providing clear instructions for check-in and offering valuable recommendations for dining and local activities.
The homemade breakfast they served was a true delight, setting a positive tone for a day of adventuring. On our second day, they provided us with a voucher for a nearby café, which was a delightful surprise. Throughout the day, they provided complimentary snacks and beverages, including sodas and a Keurig with coffee and cider pods.
This inn seamlessly blends historic charm with modern comfort. The dining area was elegant, but we also enjoyed the option to relax in Adirondack chairs under the glow of string lights in the courtyard in the evenings.
The property offers several inviting spaces, including a patio with bistro tables and a fireplace, an upstairs deck with rocking chairs, and a charming courtyard with a gazebo. Its convenient location allowed us to explore the historic town center easily, attend a local performance at The Holly Theatre, and visit nearby wineries and outlet malls (we couldn’t resist the Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma outlets…).
We stayed in the Holly room, which offered a lovely view of the Holly Theatre from our window. The room was tastefully decorated, featuring a comfortable bed and an original claw-foot tub for a relaxing soak, perfect for our DIY “spa night.” It also included amenities like a television, fireplace, and cozy seating, although we found ourselves too busy chatting and exploring the town to utilize them.
In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend this inn for your next getaway, whether you're planning a vacation, a local retreat, or visiting the nearby college. My fiancé and I are already contemplating it as a destination for our upcoming mini-honeymoon in December. Additionally, my friend and I are considering making it an annual tradition in this charming town.
A sincere thank you to Darcy and Mark for providing us with such a...
Read moreThis was my first ever stay at a B&B anywhere - EVER - so I have nothing to compare it to. I do know that it sets the bar super high for any B&B experiences for me going forward. The owners, Mark and Darcy, were super friendly, helpful, and hospitable. Darcy offered to help me carry in my luggage. Both were full of wonderful ideas on things to do, places to go, and where to eat nearby. Their suggestions were perfect and made for such a wonderful and diverse trip. The house was immaculate but welcoming - I loved the cozy living room space. The bedroom was spacious and inviting. The cherry on top was the huge delicious breakfast provided each morning - something different every day that included locally sourced fruits and produce. They were attentive to allergies and always offered to make something different if someone at the table did not like what was offered. There was enough food that we were comfortably full until well after lunch time, freeing up our meal budget because we only needed breakfast and a late lunch or early supper. Coffee, hot chocolate, water, sodas, fruit, and all kinds of snacks were available in case anyone got the munchies. There were several nice areas outside to sit and visit (too hot for our liking in July, but still nice spaces). Would definitely recommend this place, and if we ever go back to Dahlonega, we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else but the inn on Main. This was a great place for a girls' trip for us, but would also be great for...
Read moreThis is my third spring in a row spending time at The Dahlonega Inn on Main, and it never disappoints! The weather was beautiful - sunny and in the 70s - perfect for sitting under the dogwood trees on the Inn’s patio, visiting the nearby wineries and Gibbs Gardens, and rocking by the outdoor fire pit in the evenings. |I love taking morning walks around the square and through the UNG campus. The proximity to the square and its shops and restaurants is ideal for shopping and enjoying delicious meals all within walking distance. |The Inn itself is comfortable and full of charm. The restoration is beautiful while maintaining the homes’ original Civil War era character. I always sleep well in the memory foam mattresses and have plenty of space in the bedrooms and bathrooms. |If you are considering a trip to Dahlonega, do not hesitate to book the...
