You know a place has captured your heart if, days after you left, you’re still dreaming about it. That’s exactly what happened to me after staying at the Yellow Daisy Bed & Breakfast. Before arriving, I knew I would find charming accommodations with delightful special touches that would capture not only my attention but also my imagination. What I did not expect is that each little nook and cranny of this lovely lodge would also transport me to a mystical place of beauty, serenity, and inspiration. Dahlonega, the quaint town we visited for a destination wedding in the rolling hills of Georgia, and home to this delightful Bed & Breakfast, has the Hallmark feel one might long for as the holiday season draws near. Staying at Yellow Daisy only intensified this feeling through its impeccable décor reminiscent of a bygone era when life was much more tranquil, and one could enjoy a hot cup of tea accompanied by delicate homemade cookies, delicious pie bars, and the all-time holiday favorite…peppermint bark, at odd hours of the day… or night. From the moment we walked through the doors, Mike, who owns Yellow Daisy along with his wonderful wife Tracey, welcomed us with a wide smile and immediately made us feel at home. My husband and I stayed in the Lavender Room – a beautifully decorated room overlooking the manicured expansive lawn that boasts a fire pit with seating for a dozen friends. With its warm and quaint décor, the room immediately made me feel like an honored guest. Not only was the on suite exquisitely decorated, but it was also spotlessly clean… something of utmost importance to me. The bed sheets, towels, and bath rug brilliantly white, the mattress soft as a cloud, and the room temperature perfect for sleeping during the cool November nights. Our dear friends, who traveled with us to attend the wedding, stayed in the adorable Morning Glory room, just across from ours and made this experience that much more special and memorable. Then there was the breakfast. Oh, the breakfast! There’s something about waking up to the smell of bacon or butter pancakes that just can’t be described. We stayed at the Yellow Daisy for three nights and each morning as I got ready for the day, I anticipated my favorite morning ritual – breakfast! Three mornings, three very different menus, and all equally delicious. By the time we strolled downstairs, the table was tastefully set with generous servings of homemade delights that included eggs, biscuits and gravy, hearty bacon, savory quiche, delicious lemon-butter ricotta pancakes, seasonal fruit, and so much more. Steaming coffee, and orange juice topped the menu. This was unquestionably the perfect way to start our day. Now, about Tracey… she is not only extremely welcoming, gracious, accommodating, and authentic, but she is also exceptionally talented in all things art, beauty, design, and décor. A true project of love, one can immediately tell that Tracey and Mike have poured much love and care into Yellow Daisy, and it clearly shows in the way they keep their Bed & Breakfast and the way they care for each one of their guests. I could continue writing, but I think whoever reads this review will get the idea. Would I recommend Yellow Daisy Bed & Breakfast in Dahlonega, Georgia? Definitely, Yes - without a doubt or hesitation. As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I went to Dahlonega for a wedding, but I will definitely return for the stay at this amazing gem in the heart of this...
Read moreOur stay at The Yellow Daisy was beyond our expectations! We had such a lovely two nights staying here. Cindy and Mike were so kind and hospitable. Before our check in they texted us to make contact and we’re able to accommodate our requested early checking. Upon arriving Mike was on the front porch expecting us and welcoming us in. He gave us a tour of the house and our Gardenia suite. The house was beautifully decorated, warm, and cozy! The outdoor area is beautiful with flowers and a fire pit area. The B&B is a short walk into town, it took us just about 5 minutes which was perfect!
Breakfast included was delicious! Beyond what we expected! The first day we had eggs, ham, English muffin, hash brown casserole, and apple crisp. The next day we had a quiche, fruit, and blueberry bread pudding. They had hot coffee, tea, water, and orange juice. Additionally there was an array of baked goods their daughter made on a buffet for us to enjoy whenever we’d like during our stay.
The room was great, perfect for the 4 of us with a queen bed and a pull out sofa. Both were so comfortable to sleep on! The place was clean and neat when we arrived. The towels were nice and there were several outside sitting areas for guests. We had our own patio area at the private exit/entrance to the Gardenia suite.
Mike and Cindy were so friendly and we enjoyed some nice conversations with them. They made us feel at home and we thoroughly enjoyed our time...
Read moreWhen my husband and I travel, BnB's are one of our favs to stay at! Yellow Daisy BnB was top notch! Tracey is an amazing person and a fabulous hostess! We stayed 2 nights, 2 weekends ago and had a blast! They stay very booked so make sure you book quickly when you pick your travel dates. We took another couple with us and met the other couple that was there as well and had lots of great conversations. The food was superb each morning and left us full till time to eat dinner, it's that hearty of a breakfast! Our room was immaculate, and the bed was so comfy, we both slept very well during our stay! The house was decorated so beautifully and we were happy to see that some of the Christmas decor was still up! We were also able to meet several of her family members and that was a delight, all are super nice and friendly! We are definitely returning later this year and can't wait to experience it again! If you are in to ghost hunting, there is a real treat there for you as well! We investigated both nights and captured some very interesting things, of course nothing malevolent or scary there, just a fun time! ||Melissa and Jim Rubert|Anderson, SC|Connecting...
