Jethro’s Coffee & Public House — Restaurant in Dahlonega

During our recent trip, we were recommended Jethro’s Coffee & Public House by our AirBnB host. Upon entering, we were greeted by a charming coffee shop ambiance, perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in comfort. The staff were friendly and welcoming, promptly taking our order.

On our first visit, we opted for pour overs. Unfortunately, despite our high hopes, the coffee was sour and not very enjoyable. Determined to give the place another chance, we returned the next day and ordered americanos. While these were slightly better and had some flavor, they still didn't stand out. It was, quite literally, your average Joe coffee.

Welcoming, comfortable environment, friendly & knowledgeable staff, and also: SUPERB ESPRESSO DRINKS! My favorite is a cortado, but I also enjoy an Americano (hot or iced, sometimes with a syrup) and lattes. The quality of the espresso bean is delicious and dependable. Sometimes there are baked goods (like today, perfectly baked banana bread), but not always, which is OKAY because Jethro’s is a coffee shop not a bakery. I have lived in Dahlonega for about 6 years. When I was a student, I would have killed to have such an amazing coffee shop. Sadly, I only had corporate coffee places to go to. When I heard Jethro's was opening, I instantly became excited. A high quality, local coffee shop like this was sorely needed. It has a great environment that is suited to study, do business, or just hang out with friends. The prices are very reasonable, and the coffee is locally roasted.
