2nd review - oct/2023 This hotel maintains the same standard that we found in October/2022 and we even believe has increased it. It is definitely a hidden gem in Dahlonega. In addition to its exceptional location, its entire staff is excellent. They are attentive to everything... cleanliness of the area, cleanliness of each room, quality of breakfast, internet service, help in general... It's okay for visiting Vogel, Helen, Amicaola, doing the Lumpkin-Union Loop... even this year 2023 we went to Tallulah and Brasstown Bald!!. It should be noted that all of the roads and views in North Georgia are excellent. After such long trips, coming back to a clean and comfortable room for a very reasonable price makes you feel satisfied. The rooms have a microwave and refrigerator which will allow you to have a light meal in the evening before going to bed. The shower has good water flow and even a grab bar, which older people, like us appreciate it. In addition, the internet service is of quality as is the TV offer. This year we were able to watch some of the MLB play-off games. Honestly, you cannot ask for more, only pray hotel administration maintains that vocation of excellence.
1st review - oct/2022 The hotel is not a high profile or exclusive hotel; just the opposite. It is the classic hotel of all life, well located, well attended, comfortable and with a fair price. From the moment you arrive, the treatment is respectful, but close and friendly. They inform you in detail about your options and give you a map of the city and the city's surroundings. In a moment you manage to get an idea of how to move. It has a large parking lot, well lit and signposted. We stayed 3 nights with a high-end car and no incidents. The rooms are a good size, safe, good lighting, good size TV (with DirecTV), frigidaire and microwave. They have an adequate bathroom and enough towels of various types. The beds and pillows are comfortable. Everything very clean. We had to ask them not to change the towels anymore, because it was not necessary. There is always a person to attend to what you need. They offer a very competent courtesy breakfast, which even includes fresh fruits. Check-out is express; just notify and leave the keys. In short, it is an excellent option for a fair price. We plan to use it on future visits to Dahlonega and recommend it to anyone visiting that area, as well as Amicalola or the...
Read moreOh boy… I really hope this doesn’t make me sound spoiled compared to the other reviewers who have stayed here. I feel like most people who write lengthy reviews usually had something specific happen to them, so bear with me.
This hotel area is fine. Dahlonega is a quiet town. It’s easy to get in and out of. Front parking is minimal. There is plenty of parking in the back but what is unfortunately about having a room in the front but parking in the back, their elevator is broken. So we had to climb 4 flights of stairs in the back but only 2 flights in the front of the building.
The rooms need redone. Badly. Very outdated. Shower head with weak water pressure, the water from the sink with spider, dirt in the corners of door frames, and stains on towels.
Cleanliness was manageable to an extent I guess. Except for the dead stink bug in the corner.
This is where the specific concern comes into play. When we checked in, she gave us the wrong room number. Luckily no one was there but the room hadn’t been cleaned, beds undone. Out of all the jobs that are required of a hotel, a fresh and correct room is the first of their job. Leaving us with a terrible impression from the start.
I thought the bed was ok, but some of my family woke up feeling uncomfortable. No padding on the mattress at all. The chairs were fine. I didn’t want to sit in the fabric chair.
Tv was fine. The screen was dark and we couldn’t adjust it. I didn’t try any of the other items.
It wasn’t the quietest area as well. It was but it was wasn’t at the same time. The city is but that road in front I could hear cars drive by all night.
The breakfast was an 11/10! I love the options and it tasted good.
Not the greatest stay I’ve ever had, but not horrible. Actually.. yes it was. That was the worst hotel stay I ever had. Maybe I’ve just been lucky all...
Read moreWe came to this hotel to stay for a wedding in the family. It is near the main town and we thought it would be nice because of the location. This was completely not the case. For $150+ a night I would expect a lovely, clean, and sanitary room. The carpet smelled really bad and made our feet turn dark from all the dirt. We found skittles and jellybeans all over the floor and we have a dog that could have choked or gotten poisoned from these candies. The sheets, towels, comforter were ALL YELLOW and had STAINS all over them. Our towels were NOT washed and neither were the sheets. There was HAIR all over our bed as well. There were specks of mold on the ceiling and in the tub. There was no freezer and no ice. The sink was clogged the whole time and was very gross. There was only one toilet paper roll and no tissue box when we got there. We had to call the receptionist to get clean sheets, clean towels, toilet paper, and tissue boxes. When we called her for this she just laughed at us without any apology, no offer to change rooms, and no offer to refund some of the money. However, she did provide the bedding, towels, tissue box, and toilet paper but we had to change all of the bedding ourselves and handle this gross linen. Lastly, the complementary breakfast had a lot to be desired. There was sugary cereal (one sugary one not), no bottled water, no eggs and a limited amount of food for $150+ a night. As far as we are concerned, we should get a FULL REFUND for all of the things we had to put up with during our stay. If it was not for our family wedding, we would NOT have stayed here, we would have demanded a refund, and then found a...
