Weâve been coming here consistently since Alamo club opened and have typically loved it. We always take friends/family here when they come into town and regularly sit on the patio with our dog. Last night we brought some friends in and sat at the bar for 2 drinks. In that time it seemed like there was a shift change and a new bartender took over. When I went to order another round I was informed we had been cut off by the new bartender⊠it took me by surprise to say the least. Especially considering we hadnât even said three words to the guy so not sure how he or his boss could know we were drunk enough to get cut offâŠ
It was embarrassing and surprising to say the least. Iâve never ever been cut off anywhere. Iâm not sure if they confused us for some other group or what but they wouldnât even give us an explanation. I hate that it happened and feel wrongly accused. I know the owner is a super nice guy and if he had been there that night I donât think it wouldâve happened. Canât say I wonât be back but will certainly think twice about who I...
Read moreDowngraded! Alamo Club has been a favorite happy hour spot for years, but last night we had a really bad experience. Our food was served in plastic baskets like a fast food place (used to have real plates), the portions were strikingly smaller, and they have removed the entrees from an already limited menu. Besides a few appetizers they only have a burger (now tiny), a couple of sandwiches, and two salads. Our server got both of our orders wrong, and mine wrong a second time! (I asked for extra dressing on the side and the server brought me a dry salad in a bowl so small and full I couldn't toss it myself. I sent if back and it returned tossed, but still dry. What!?) Serving sit down restaurant food on plastic and paper (my salad bowl was paper!) was a huge downgrade. We have loved this place for the fun atmosphere and great happy hour drink prices. We will still come for happy hour occasionally, but not dinner. It was as if the food and service fell off a cliff! So...
Read moreYou couldnât sink faster than this place if your name was Titanic. My friends and I would frequently go on Wednesday for trivia and âall day happy hourâ. The service and atmosphere are always good. The happy hour is a decent price for drinks but the food is ridiculously overpriced. All the burgers, sandwiches, etc. are a la carte, so if you want a burger and fries itâs $18 for concession stand level food. If you want fast food level chicken nuggets with fries they have you covered for a low price of $21. Insanely priced when you receive your food in plastic baskets. We will unfortunately be finding another place to go to trivia every week. My 6 year old brother could make better food at cheaper prices than this and I donât even have a...
