The outside of Old Crow is so nondescript I actually walked right by the first time I visited. Not a facade that screams to you, unlike many in Lower Greenville (and elsewhere).
The bar has been around for 22 years even though it's in what looks to be a modern commercial development. It's skinny and proportionately deep. It has those wonderful old school zinc patterned tiles on the ceiling. The walls are a study in shades of dark brown. The floor is, um, frontier Western minus the sawdust. The bathroom features beautiful tiles and an artistically fascinating floor. The floor and the rest of the bathroom might not be your cup of tea but it is clean and smells clean.
To the right as you enter the bar is a work of art. It presents the name of the bar in large.letters. Below is the business's URL. Its hard to believe that it's made entirely of metal but if you get close you can see that's true. Extraordinary. LOL it's really much better than I have described. My bad.
OC boasts a nice selection of craft beers. Not my favourite, Deep Ellum IPA, but I did enjoy the Goose Island IPA. I was charged $4.75 for that IPA; just up the street I was charged $7 for DEIPA.
The bartender (who wishes to remain anonymous) was professional, timely, and oh by the way pretty and nice.
I feel very comfortable here. ...
Read moreMy coworker called for night out together. She picked me up and since im not really a bartype, i couldn't recommend a spot. We tried a few, but all were no smoking even outside on patio. We found one but waited 34 minutes for only TWO drinks, so we left. Other bars on Greenville Avenue suggested Old Crow. We found it well within what we wanted. The bartender was prompt, freindly, couteous and not over bearing. We had two rounds, a lot of laffs, and i think on sly way I proposed! She called this morning and asked was i real, i saud "I do," jokeingly laughed it off, but we enjoyed the ambience, companioship and drinks as we never have before! Thanks Barkeep and Old Crow for the start to a VERY memorable night! We...
Read moreVery chill laid-back bar on Greenville Avenue. This place has been around forever they're not trying to be hip they're not trying to be an old dive, this place is just being the old crow, as it's done for years. All the bartenders and door guys are absolutely amazing, my favorite is Smalls in bar and B at the door. Good pool tables, patio, prices on drinks, karaoke Some Nights and sometimes old school video games. If you're in Dallas and you're not trying to make a fashion statement but just have a good time and enjoy some of Dallas's bar history you should head down to...
