Rolling down the street I came across a freshly painted white building with cloud of bbq smoke bellowing out from a single smokestack as my nose led me to what looks to be an old service station. I pulled up on google maps to find there was no info or ratings for this shop, so I figured I’d be the first. The front of the building has no door so you enter on the right of the building next to the two outdoor patio tables. You walk in and I was quickly greeted and the rather small menu I found myself there to try the namesake…the ribs. I opted for the plate which incuded 2 sides, I chose the Mac and cheese and slaw. $19. He also sells “the fried pie shop” brand pies so I chose a cherry to round out my meal, to go. The condiment station includes warm sauce, pickles, onions, and the like. Coke products on tap all self serve. When I got back to my room I opened my box to find a half slab of ribs, some mediocre mac and cheese, the frozen kind you find in the supermarket you bake, and the slaw, although a bit of a rough cut on the veggies, was quite tasty, and sweet, like I like my slaw. The two sauce containers, I popped open and stuck my finger in and it was a generic over the counter sauce he might have doctored up a bit to thin it out, sweet and a little bit smoky. I like a sweet sauce so this sufficed. Now comes to the meat of the review (like that pun?) the ribs were small and dry, not a lot of meat on these baby back ribs, not a heavy coverage of dry rub either. A nice pink smoke ring penetrated the meat, but another hour in the smoker would have made them more tender. They weren’t quite jerky, but they weren’t the most fall off the bone. I didn’t like the fact that they pulled them out of the hot box, but alas. It’s an honest review. BBQ is aplenty in Texas, everyone has their favorite spot, this might be yours. Unfortunately...
Read moreThe one bad thing that I DO have to say is.....my lunch break is not long enough ugh! I really wish I had time to sit down & eat because the atmosphere is so welcoming and friendly. I called to order in advance (30 minute lunch break), and the gentleman who answered the phone was so nice. He said come on in that there was plenty. So I started to walking and in that few miniutes they almost grabbed the last potato BUT he saved it for me! It's the little things like that ya'll that tell me all I need to know about an establishment. I would really like to point out that the chopped beef sandwhich was sooooooo delicious it did not stand a chance okay lol and my potato was perfect. I highly recommend they get 5+ stars from me. My first time there and definitely not my last. Anyone who's had a not so great experience I strongly encourage you to give them another shot. Freely You Have Received Grace, Freely You Should Give Grace. Also because of my short amount of time I scarfed my food down so fast I didn't get any pics lol

I asked for a brisket grilled cheese. The man told the cook my order and the cook didn't say anything but looked funny. So he said they didn't have brisket grilled cheese.
The I told him give me a brisket sandwich. He asked chopped of sliced. I specifically said one of each. I got two of the driest sandwiches. Both sliced. Then I asked for a 1/2 lbs rib he said you want a lb. I'm like yes that's fine. The cook looked like that bothered him. I spent 52 bucks.
The brisket was dry and I promise on the love of my dog. He would not even eat the brisket. Even after pulling off the dried outside.
I tasted a rib... no taste very soft though.... well the fat that I kept biting was soft.
I should have known by the look on the man behind the counters face. That's when he was not talking on the damn phone. I should have just saved my funds.
Very disappointed with this...
