This was our first time at this restaurant and it will be our last. We came for Easter Sunday at 11am. They sat us at a table by the bar. We should have remembered that if they sit you at a table next to the bar, the service will be terrible because the bartenders are focused on their patrons at the bar. That is exactly what happened today. We didn't know who our server was. It started out with a female and then the white male "jerk" bartender came and took over. He took our orders and didn't do anything else. He was a waste.
We were done with our appetizers of the biscuits and the dip. The biscuits were good and the dip with the Fritos was not good at all. Servers kept walking past our table and nobody would pick up the plates off our table. The bartender would look our direction and never come over to remove the appetizer plates nor would he bother to re-fill our drinks. When he saw me "glaring" his direction, he finally decided to check on us and I told him in a stern voice that my mother needed more tea as her glass was sitting there empty. At this point I was beyond annoyed with this "jerk" and this terrible service. Apparently the bartender didn't like my tone and he proceeded to whisper to the other bartender and another co-worker and then they looked over my direction to stare at me. Classless. You can't be any more unprofessional. How about take care of your paying customers and do your job and perhaps you will not have annoyed customers!
The service was bad. The food was lack luster. My husband and I ordered the club sandwich. The pictures online showed the sandwich cut in half. No, they decided to try to make it look "modern" and they cut the sandwich in skinny, narrow sections. When you went to bite into the sandwich it would fall apart. The lettuce was soaking wet from the vinaigrette dressing. I have never had a club sandwich at a restaurant that puts vinegar on the sandwich. We are not dining at a sub shop. After the terrible service and now dealing with a sandwich that was falling a part, I asked for the manager. He came over and I told the manager about the bad service and the sandwich disaster. The manager did not apologize for the bartender and his lack of service/poor service. The manager did ask if he could get me something else and all I wanted to do was hurry up and leave. The manager was nice enough to remove the terrible sandwiches from our bill, but he left the two orders of French fries that we didn't even touch. That makes zero sense. Petty if you ask me. He should not have charged us for the fries that we did not touch. I wasn't going to argue because I just wanted to leave.
We wanted to have a nice Easter brunch with my mother and it was anything but a nice Easter brunch. When we left at 12pm, the restaurant wasn't even filled up on Easter Sunday. That speaks volumes. If this restaurant continues to operate in the manner, they won't last. There are too many other great restaurants in the area that have much better food and much better service. Don't waste your time or money here when it's clear they don't care about providing their customers with great service. This manager and the bartender have a...
Read moreWant to feel like a VIP? Eat at Bobbie’s. I stopped in on a Sunday with some time to kill, and from the way I was welcomed and wanted for nothing during my visit I would’ve never had a clue that 1) I arrived RIGHT as they opened, and 2) the restaurant itself has been open less than a year! Firstly, the restaurant itself. Have you seen a cooler building?? From the time I pulled up, i was so excited to see what waited for me inside. The ambience. Omg. Bobbie’s manages to feel warm and cozy and inviting-like you’re eating at a good friend’s house; while still being a pretty sizable and busy fine dining establishment. The lighting is soft and glowy which makes the restaurant itself so much more beautiful. The tile, the open kitchen, tasteful decor, truly there is nothing I can think to criticize. Even the restrooms are lovely. I was greeted by Jordan who is so sweet and funny and welcoming, and within the blink of an eye, Liz-who is nothing short of amazing at her job, sat me at the bar with Jared. I chose the Gold Rush, sort of like an elevated whiskey sour. No sooner had I given my order, I was gifted with the loveliest, most delicious cocktail I could have ever wanted. Jared is the best, and was super fun to talk to as well! Whattup Jared! Liz was so well versed on the menu, she knows it all. She helped me decide on the Halibut Tartare. It was refreshing, light, fresh-the perfect accompaniment to my cocktail. During my very short wait on the food, I slipped away to powder my nose and bumped into Salma, Anastasia, and Mackenna-as if i could want for a better welcome wagon, they put the icing on the cake. Every single staff member at Bobbie’s made me feel like a friend, and I was on cloud nine from beginning to end of my short visit. For dessert I asked Jared to make me the dirtiest martini he felt legally allowed, and he did that!!! I know, it’s probably sacrilege, but it’s my drink okay? And Jared more than satisfied my briny craving. For a restaurant that a) I only visited for quick stop and b) has been open for such a short time to wow me this much, I say this with conviction-WOW. Please go, I can guarantee with 100% confidence you’ll love your experience. Thank you for making me feel so special and cared for, Bobbie’s! I dream about my next visit. *I’m a photographer who was fresh off a gig, so don’t mind my very extra photos. Bobbie’s,...
Read moreNever could a restaurant be more unorganized, unsure of itself, and unwilling to be run with any kind of expertise.
The morning staff are lazy and uninterested in providing quality food or service, which one can assume affects the lunch and dinner service I’ve experienced. The staff here are ever changing, which either means no one wants to continually work here or the owners are unsuccessful at hiring qualified people, or in my personal opinion, both. You would think owning multiple restaurants would give you some kind of learned experience, but anyone partaking at Bobbie’s can clearly see that this is the unloved child of the 3.
The food is fine, it’s always fine, but you come to learn that the same things seem to run out. No mashed potatoes, no Tritip, and the biggest issue seems to be the roasted chicken. This chicken, I cannot emphasize enough, seems to be fighting to be available. Many times they have no chicken at dinner or say they do and are later told they actually don’t.
Communication. I’ve worked in the food industry in my past, anyone that has can immediately tell this place has severe communication issues. Too many managers, too many “my apologies”, heck you can simply people-watch in the kitchen and witness as panic slowly spreads concerning whatever issue is active that one person never told the other.
Bobbie’s is an interesting ecosystem of chaos. While friendly waitresses bring you mains (that don’t come with sides, those cost extra!) and overpriced cocktails, the belly of the beast that is their kitchen has people rushing to make the best of a situation. I sincerely hope this restaurant overhauls its training, its leadership, and maybe add sides to its already pricy...
