Is this a city maintained park? I know the LBGTQ+ has a plaque as a sponsor, but are they to maintain it? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think that was the case. For a bark park that's rarely used for dogs, it stays dirty and with mud puddles. Popped locks and cracked open gates so pups can escape. Trash and glass throughout. Prepare to bath your pup after a visit at some point, and make sure your pup is up to date on all shots. Great portraits throughout with poorly maintained grounds. And that's absolutely sad because there's so much space for Dallas city pups to run in the middle of the city! This community's apartment/ condo pups need and deserve a well maintained running/play space right here in this space, Deep Ellum. Another reason for pet lovers NOT to live in the city... historic downtown Dallas. This is a one rating because google does not allow any lower. This park needs a health/ safety...
Read moreIt needs some fixing, but other than people experiencing homelessness, converting this spot to their main dwelling area is irritating while you’re trying to let dogs play, and you get yelled at for disturbing the sleep of someone when it is 5 in the evening.
If I were homeless, I would dwell at this park, too. It is covered by an overpass = no rain or harsh heat, and it is amongst the safest places for people without housing who can’t find shelter. So, if either the City actually cared enough to do something about the severe homelessness’s effects or actually cleaned up instead of being the City known for “Almost Made It” or “Get Halfway Through To Pause Everything for months, even years!”
This breaks my heart as I was born and raised in Texas and lived in Dallas for over 15 years, and I am slowly seeing it go downhill… 😕

Read moreHuge! Very close if you live in downtown or uptown area like me but a few things hold this location back now that I have visit other dog parks in DFW. 1. Barely any grass. It's a dust bowl. It's not terrible but I have to wash my pup usually after playing here. 2. No separation of big dog and little dogs. Can be a cool thing but my dog is 14lbs and sometimes she is terrified of the aggressive, bigger dogs. Lastly, can be hard to park if you drive. There is a public parking lot across street that is 5 dollars, not bad but not free like you'd expect a park to be. Overall, everyone is very friendly and we have a good time, however if one of the other dog parks were closer to us we wouldn't ever...
