We went on Saturday to have a nice dinner with my husband, since we saw it had changed owners from Sammy's to its new name. Kenzie was our server, and the manager we spoke with and asked questions was Jordan. I loved that they were super helpful in giving us suggestions.
We shared southwestern egg rolls and wings. While the egg rolls were from a frozen brand, they were pretty good. Honestly, although we were told the wings were fresh, they tasted old or frozen. I will add that the sauce they make is so yummy. We had the honey sriracha sauce and asked for the wings to be blackened. They also make their ranch in-house, but I found it to be slightly watery, but good in flavor.
My meal was the cheesesteak, and I definitely enjoyed it. The side I tried first was the mac and cheese, but as I said, it was drier than my jokes 🤣🤦🏻♀️. So I asked to try something else, which was their roasted vegetables, and I asked if they could be sautéed. I can honestly say I'm not a fan of either. Just in case, I am definitely not a picky person. My husband had a triple-decker club sandwich 🥪. He enjoyed it very much. I was told they are planning renovations, including new paint and bench repairs. They will also extend the patio at a later date. The problem is that I feel it could be better; we find the space slightly outdated and in need of some love. The restaurant feels a little dark. The food quality is not my favorite. The staff is sweet and courteous. I suggested that even changing the tabletops would make a huge impact. This is my review and my opinion, but I will always try to be honest from my...
Read moreIt’s still Sammy’s just with a few things missing from the menu. I was really excited because we need some GOOD new places to come into downtown. We had a table of 6, we sat right away and ordered appetizers. It took about 30 minutes for those to come out. Once they came out the waitress came back about 15 minutes later to take our actual food order, then our food came out about 45-1hr after that. They were pretty busy and they’re new so I’m not going to hit on that much. But the food was exactly the same as Sammy’s. Chicken and shrimp was good in the pasta but the pasta itself was meh along with the sauce it was so watery it was just like eating plain pasta. We had a decent amount of left overs but nothing came home with us. Edit* I have been here 3 times since they have opened, and its almost like every time gets worse. So thats a bummer. Sammys was never great but at least there were a few items on the menu that I felt like werent horrible. Even those things now come out not good. This last time we went, my uncle ordered nachos it literally looked like someone took sliced cheese and just popped it in...
Read moreI want to say THANK YOU to Dallas Tavern and Taphouse for hosting our family reunion. Megan, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure everything was flawless!! She made sure we had everything we needed and the setup was perfect!! Evan, our server, was top notch!! He was constantly taking drink or food orders and kept up with our party of 21. Nikki and Kayla were behind the bar knocking out our drink orders as I never had an empty glass!! What also was great to see was how the staff worked as a team to make our party special. Arial, Summer, and the kitchen staff went out of their way as well!! That being said, the food was excellent along with the drinks!! The fried shrimp has become my favorite menu item along with the tenders. My family all agree they have the best wings around and you can never go wrong with their burgers!! I highly recommend having any special gathering at DT&T!! You won't be disappointed!!...
