This visit was a reboot of a 1-star visit the week before. Dunkin Donuts for the most part is delicious wherever you go; the only variable is the service. The service for my visit last week was awful, and this one wasn't much better. I go to Dunkin with my 21 year old daughter. We love the wake-up wraps and hash browns. Our standard order is a large and medium ice coffee, 4 bacon wake up wraps, 2 orders of hash browns and 2 donuts. These make good traveling food because everything is easy to hold and drive at the same time. Using my keen investigation skills from my first customer disservice experience, I was put in communication with the franchise owner and a District MGR. The DM stated on my next visit, his store manager (we'll call her 'K') would take care of me and my order complimentary. K acted as if she didn't get the memo. Her verbiage, mannerisms, head to the side look while dragging her words showed her skepticism of the situation. When I turned over the phone to get the District Managers name, she suddenly recalled the conversation and asked for my order. I proceeded to make my standard order and she stopped pushing buttons after the first coffee and stated "you can't get that much". I replied with "okay, whatever you don't cover, I can cover, no worries". I also proceeded to tell her that this is what I ordered when an employee (we'll call him 'J') was over the top rude..... Am I starting to sound like a scene from Men In Black III..... LOL!! Anyway, K displayed a look of attitude, you know the one; parsed lips with the slow head shake... Rang my order minus the donuts and provided the items. Because my daughter was looking forward to those donuts, I got back in line and ordered them. Anyone in customer service that does it well, THANK YOU! Thank you for putting up with us customers that expect you to do your job. I know it's hard because people can be difficult, especially in the middle of a global pandemic. If anyone is clueless on the proper etiquette for customer service, please watch a few episodes of Bar Rescue, To Hell and Back in 24 Hours, or any food service reality video to gauge what the expectations are. I know it's Dunkin', but wherever I am spending my money, I do expect to be treated with the basics of respect and courtesy. For those of you that respond with "you don't know what it's like"..... YES I DO. I'm a Texas SPED Certified Educator, but when I wanted to train my SPED students how to do entry level jobs, I worked at McDonald's for 2 years. I had people shake their heads while telling their kids to stay in school so they won't end up like me, 50 and working 'HERE'.... Even in the face of these obvious put-downs, I still smiled and told every customer to enjoy their food. It was my managers that had my back, letting them know that I was a teacher that chose to be there so I could train my SPED students how to do this job. I still run into many of the McDonald's customers and they almost beg me to come back. They seem to miss a good attitude, and good service no matter what.... That's what service should be at it's bottom line... "Good no...
Read moreThis is a review for just this experience. I went to this location on Saturday June 13, 2020, around 2pm. (My first time going there, btw.) The customer service was fine, but I ordered a frozen coffee and bacon egg wrap no cheese. The drink was fine but I was given a sandwich with cheese. Because it was very little I ended up eating it although I should have taken it back. It also seemed like it was older from earlier and warmed up. Immediately after eating the sandwich I started feeling sick, got a sore throat and started coughing profusely. I ended up throwing up the food and drink all over me while driving in the car. I didn't have time to pull over even. I went to get Nyquil and Robitussin and took it all week. It helped medicate me and help me feel a little better (although the Robitussin wasn't helping the cough much). It's a very deep cough. I ended up seeing the doc (telemedicine) and he prescribed steroids and cough pearls which I am still taking and it's helping. My issue is what will happen once I stop taking them. The doc wanted me to take a covid test and I plan to take one. I am bronchial and it could be an infection however he was hesitant to prescribe antibiotics and wants me to go see my doc or go to emergency in case I don't get better and do have an infection. No shortness of breath or anything though.
At any rate I did just call the manager Katrina at the store and she was highly concerned and understanding. She did let me know that they all have to be tested and show their test results, or they can't go past employee area. She is interested in learning my covid results just for the safety of everyone. She stated they make everything fresh and they have high safety standards. She also stated she was concerned I didn't get exactly what I asked for because I could have been allergic to cheese or lactose intolerant and she wished they would have made my sandwich to order. She stated all of them are made to order (although mine wasn't).
Although I won't be having any more takeout until the coronavirus outbreak is contained/there is a vaccine or cure, it was interesting to know she was concerned about making sure everyone's careful not during this time but all of the time.
Just wanted everyone to be aware and I did let her know I felt compelled to leave a review just in case anyone else wanted to be safe or verify they are safe when they stop by.
I haven't been eating ANY takeout and decided to this month, and that was only the 2nd time until after that experience. Won't be doing...
Read moreIt has been a while since I’ve been to this Dunkin’ on Preston and Alph. Used to be one of my favorite Dunkin’s I would go to. Today I got six dozen donuts, two snackin bacon’s, two hashbrowns, one medium coffee, one medium caramel macchiato, and a bag of ground coffee. Today the experience was absolutely terrible! The hashbrowns taste like they had been cooked on a grill that had been on fire and never been cleaned for weeks. That disgusting chard taste was so bad we had to throw them away. ( if they are fried in oil, then whatever oil it was cooked in is more than just burned, it is chard ) The snackin bacon tasted exactly the same way, a little on the undercooked side but that chard burning taste was awful and overpowered the flavor of the actual bacon. I haven’t gotten to the donuts yet, but I’m pretty sure that will be a separate review. Let’s talk about the staff for a second… All of the ladies with the exception of the one guy that I did see had long hair. None of it kept up in a bun, or a hairnet flailing around all over the place over peoples food. Not to mention HANDING PEOPLES FOOD with ABSOLUTELY NO GLOVES ON! ZERO GLOVES! Did not notice them handling the food without gloves, until after I had to go back in and get the coffee drinks because I had already taken our food out to the car. As for the lobby area where people sit to eat… That area, most of the tables were filthy, and they had plenty of employees behind the register and in the kitchen to send one person out to clean the lobby area. Super disappointing that this Dunkin’ has become this way since the new owner. The only thing that has tasted good so far is the coffee and the caramel macchiato. And of course I’m sure the ground coffee is going to taste amazing as always. This will be the last time I go back to...
