Finally! We've been living in Dallas for going on eight months now and have been looking for a good, local, cheap, hole in the wall, authentic Mexican food serving restaurant, and we finally found it! It is a tiny bit of a drive, but then, where we live, that's the case for everything. :P LOVED the food! The service is very friendly, too. It may not be the quickest, but if you aren't in a hurry, and I recommend you not be because you should spend some time savoring the food, you have to check it out! We sampled the Tortas, steaks and meatballs in mole sauce. The mole sauce turned out to be too spicy for us, but that's on us, not them. (I'm eating them as left overs as I write this. Especially during mid day. Totally worth it though! They are open for breakfast as well, which is how initially were introduced. There is a whole row of Mexican restaurants along that street, but El Regio was the only one open for breakfast. The breakfast tacos were so good, we had to come back for lunch! Now we are looking forward to sitting down with them again in the near future...

Fresh flour tortillas, eggs perfectly cooked, the meat was very tasteful, the onion was excellent, and the sauce was really good. I have to say the beans are one of the best beans I've tasted for restaurants. Thank you for the service, and I will...
Read moreThe cook is always late, so you never know what time they are going to open. They supposedly open at 8am, but it is 8:30 and they are not answering their phone. This has been going on for about a year now and it's really frustrating! I used to see the owner there every morning and now he is nowhere to be seen. This is no way to run a business. ...
