Dallas Zoological Society — Local services in Dallas

I have been several zoos (Bronx, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh..) that are by far way bigger so I wasn’t expecting much with this zoo. Let me just say that I was pleasantly surprised. The zoo is small but what they do offer they do very well. You will not spend the day lifting up your kid and pointing out the animals far off in the distance. The experience is very close up (but safe), there are chances for interaction and many other kid friendly activities. Many of the shows and encounters are just starting to open back up which adds to the experience. They have food locations all over the park where you buy fast food or enjoy a cold treat. If you would prefer to bring your own food and go picnic style they have places around the park for that as well. All in all this is a great place to take kids; no long lines and plenty to do. Suggestion: best time to visit to see all the animals is during the spring before the Texas summer...

This zoo is a very well kept. The animal seem as though they it won't seem as though they are taken care of very well by by the staff. Me and my family me and my family loved Visiting the zoo today. The only reason why I am rating it 4 stars is because it's because the main reason why I was visiting the zoo was visiting the zoo was to see the giraffe and they had the giraffes area giraffes area blocked off because they were because there was a new baby.. The main issue is that aint issue is that we were supposed to be able to we were supposed to be able to feed the 5 day old brand new day old brand new baby giraffe and they had shut that down at some point in time today so we did not get to do that do that as well as other animals were not in their...

I was really disappointed this last time I went (5/14/19). It feels like they have lost touch with the overall maintenance of the zoo. Everything just looked dirty and unkept. The coworkers by the giraffe feeding area were also very rude with the kids. A girl, not part of my group, was picking up lettuce other kids had dropped on the floor and feeding it to the giraffes and the coworker yelled at her not to do that and said she needed to get more at the window. Really??? Also, there’s a lot of construction going on and trash everywhere. Their AC units were either not in or not working properly at the reptile house, making it super uncomfortable. Their gift shop is also closed, so don’t expect to get...
