Golden Chick — Restaurant in Dallas

My wife and I typically have issues with Golden Chick, but this one was good for the most part. This situation I am about to share was on out very first visit 2 days ago. Okay....the only thing we didn't enjoy was the way the manager (or supervisor), Shay (spellcheck), treated the employees (Keontae and Tatianna). We DON'T know any of the staff personally, but we took to heart how they were being treated. So my wife asked for the names so we could do this review. Tatianna's role was to work the front lobby. She came out and started cleaning. Keontae came to the lobby and started tying the trash bag so he could take it out. I sensed chivalry since men are typically expected to take out the trash. We also viewed it as him taking initiative since most job descriptions state that you must be able to do other duties not required in your initial job responsibilities. However, during the process of the young man gathering the trash while Tatianna cleaned tables, Shay (manager or whatever) came out and said, "This is her lobby (Tatianna's). Let her work her lobby." She said it with the ugliest attitude, though. Keontae only looked at her and kept tying the bag. Then, Shay chimed again, "Don't nobody care about no attitudes. If you got a attitude, you can clock out!" Then she walked off. It was the WEIRDEST thing because the only one with the attitude was Shay. As a manager or whatever role she had, she should not have acted that way towards her employees, especially in front of us (the customers). It was uncalled for. Tatianna made our visit so easy and she is the only reason we would go again. She showed concern for the customers needs, especially our young children's needs. Keontae is obviously very young, so we commend him on the positive attitude he maintained. Same for Tatianna. That manager though, Shay, must have been having a bad night and should not have taken it...

Went through the drive-thru last night and had the worst experience ever. Had to end up calling the police. The supposed manager, said she wasn't going to give us our money back then shut the window and locked it then walked off. She was very rude for no reason. They was out of a lot of stuff we were ordering or just didn't want to cook anymore. Then didn't tell us they were out of gravy and wouldn't give us any more ranch without charging us extra. We just spent $40 on chicken tenders and mashed potatoes. So we continued to sit at the window waiting for someone to come back, since there was a line of people behind us. Instead of accommodating us, the manager proceeded to tell the others in line to come around into the store that was supposed to be locked at this time of night. My wife and son got out the car and walked around, but they wouldn't let them in. My other son was driving, so I got out the back and started letting everyone else in line know what was going on and they all decided to leave. I made my way all to the back of the store in just enough time to see the workers trying to escort the patrons that they did let into the store out the back roor through the kitchen. Really. You'll do all that but won't give me my money back. Cops finally show up and the manager was all to willing to give the money back now. She thought the police was going to make us leave, but we didn't do anything wrong. Waste of time and money because now my wife has to wait three days to get the refund back on her card. Definitely report this to the real manager...

After a long day at work and getting father in law to appts, I did not have much to get dinner done. So we decided about 7ish p.m. To stop and get something for dinner. Mind you we are a family of 7. So our order is never cheap. Well, get home and sit down to have dinner. Not happy with it at all. For starters. The wait was a bit long. Which I get whatever, everyone can get busy especially around that time. But then we do not even get a receipt. Did not realize that til we went to get it, but remember we never had one handed to us. Anyhow, get to sit down and eat, the chicken was horrible. The tenders had no flavor whatsoever. And we also ordered some grilled chicken as well for the ones that cant have fried food much. But that too was horribly dry and no flavor. The sides were just fine. Its the chicken that was just nasty! My husband was getting ready to take it all back, but with our day being so busy and not being handed a receipt we just did not want to fight with anyone over this. We just wanted to come home sit down and relax for the rest of the day. But we could not even do that. Sad. I should have read all the ratings to this place, cause they are not good at all. Lessoned...
