FOR FIRST TIMERS… If you saw the Til Tok videos and you are looking for the place with the “Burger Schmurger” sign on the front of the building, you are looking for the BUCKNER location. If you go to this location, do NOT look for “Burger Schmurger” signs. The bar is called “HIGH-FIVE” and you will enter through THE BAR. You will also order your food at the bar. I’ve yet to glad clarity on how this place is associated with the Buckner location but I will update this review when I find out. The location is confusing to get to (if you have on your mind that you’re looking for a “Burger Schmurger” sign). Again, we figured out that we needed to go to the bar. Parking is a pain because parking in the neighborhood is restricted and valet loves to capitalize and monopolize on the available spaces. So I’d give a ONE STAR for parking. If you find a spot, great! The bar… we went on a Friday night, code to 7pm. Not many people in there. Not sure if this is the norm or an anomaly but it was t packed… which was nice. We felt safe, cool vibes, very clean. We ordered at the bar. The prices are reasonable and the menu is simple. We ordered two “OG’s” and the Schmurger Fries. All great choices for a grand total of $47. The food came out quickly. The order was correct, hot, and plentiful. The overall taste was amazing. Loved it. We have to try the Buckner location but this place was great. Highly recommend!

For my wife, this is the best burger in town, and I think #2 for me (I’m a huge fan of Maple & Motor). But the flavor of the meat is second to none. I’m sure you already know, but it’s a “smash-style” burger, it’s messy, and the menu is very limited, but they’re excellent. The fries are great, too. A basket of fries is big enough for a table and comes with several dipping sauces, which is nice. Plain ranch is not one of them, though, so if that’s your gig, just ask for some on the side. The one less-than-glowing note I’ll add is that the hot dog is just a regular ol’ hot dog. I tried it once and won’t get it again. Oh, one more thing to add - it’s in a bar, High Fives, with sort of a sports bar feel to it, and does have a patio which I *believe* is dog-friendly, but check first. If eating in a bar isn’t your thing, they’re supposedly opening a real restaurant pretty soon.

The burger was delicious. Never had a true smash burger until today. Crispy edges where the beef patty was seared on the grill, melty cheese, good onions, all the flavors just melted in my mouth. The fries were seasoned, but they were just okay. Standard, a little soggy, but that was cause I took it to go. I feel like the price was a little on the higher side for the burger, but the late night price made it a little better at $10 per burger. (The OG price is $12) Service was brief, but fantastic. They checked up on me a few times while I waited and passed me a glass of water without even asking for it. The atmosphere was not for me. The music was loud and the place wasn’t entirely well lit. This is definitely a place to bring your friends for drinks and burgers though. I’ll come back to try their Maverick Burger though, whenever I’m back in the area.

Visited on Sunday, July 23rd.

A honest review of Burger Schmurger.

After a couple months of seeing the hype for the Schmurger and Maverick, my expectations were pretty high.

I ordered one of each and neither of them had the icon lacing I had seen in a myriad of social media posts of Instagram. Mine looked like normal 3 to 4 oz patties cooked on a griddle.

The Maverick - boy, what a disappointment. This baby was bone dry except for the American cheese which overrode flavors of the bacon jam. I almost thought they forgot to put the jam on until I saw some pieces of bacon and I tried it. There was very little burger sauce as well and my buns were pretty over-toasted, on the verge of burnt on one side. Sadly this was more or less a really dry patty melt.

The Schmurger - the saving grace here despite no lacing from a really smashed smash burger. Flavors were on point and the American cheese wasn't the main flavor here. The patties were juicier than the Maverick without the aid of burger sauce. Pickles and onions were on point for their ability to balance out the fat and richness from the patties and sauce. I'm glad I ate this second, otherwise the experience would have been pretty dull.

Naturally I'll chalk it up to poor performance in the back of the house, it was Sunday and they just opened so maybe griddle cook hadn't hit their groove yet.

I'll be willing to give them a second try when they do a remote session, I have a feeling those might have the fine...

I drove over 45 mins to try this burger that everyone was talking about. Got there at exactly 5:01pm today - Saturday, 6/21/25. Placed my to go order at the bar. Order was not complicated at all. Ordered the OG Burger Schmurger and a side of fries. Paid with my CC. The Receipt is time stamped - 5:05pm. I leaned up against the wall after signing. Exactly 2 mins later at 5:07pm the young lady at the bar who took my order called my name and handed me my to go bag. I looked rather shocked at how quickly the food was cooked and boxed within 2 mins. Her response - that was rather quick. Something should have alerted me to check the bag. Drove to work for a long 12 hour shift ahead and sat down to eat before work. Opened the box - the burger was for a kid. There were NO ONIONS. One single patti and the patti was way overcooked. The fries were somewhat salvageable. This was clearly NOT my order. This probably was someone else's order that likely got mixed up with mine and had the same name. I tried calling the number on the receipt only to be directed to a mailbox. I can't speak to anyone directly at the restaurant. I paid for a meal and also left a tip for a meal that I never got what I paid for. Will NOT be back. Not impressed whatsoever. ...
