Houndstooth Coffee, located near my house, is a hidden gem that has quickly become one of my favorite spots to relax, work, and soak in the local atmosphere. The coffee shop offers a delightful experience with its excellent atmosphere, friendly staff, and neighborhood-friendly vibe. Although the espresso shot I had during my visit was a bit sour, I am confident that with time, this cozy little place will only get better.
From the moment I walked through the doors of Houndstooth Coffee, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance. The interior is tastefully decorated, creating a comfortable and cozy environment. The ample seating options and well-lit space make it an ideal spot for both focused work and leisurely coffee breaks. The atmosphere alone makes it worth a visit.
One of the standout features of Houndstooth Coffee is its exceptional staff. The baristas are not only skilled in their craft but also genuinely friendly and attentive. They take the time to ensure that every customer feels welcome and well taken care of. Their passion for coffee shines through in each cup they prepare, and they are always ready to offer recommendations or engage in friendly conversation. The staff's dedication to providing a positive experience adds a personal touch that enhances the overall visit.
However, during my recent visit, I noticed that the espresso shot I ordered had a slightly sour taste. It seemed that the timing might not have been perfect. While this was a minor disappointment, I believe it is an issue that can be easily addressed with consistency and practice. I have faith that as Houndstooth Coffee hones their craft, they will deliver consistently excellent espresso shots.
One of the things that make Houndstooth Coffee special is its neighborhood-friendly vibe. It is evident that this coffee shop is deeply rooted in the community, as it attracts a diverse crowd of locals and regulars. The friendly conversations, familiar faces, and sense of belonging make it a welcoming space. It's a place where you can feel comfortable working or simply enjoy a cup of coffee while observing the rhythm of the neighborhood.
Houndstooth Coffee is a promising coffee shop that offers an excellent atmosphere, friendly staff, and a neighborhood-friendly vibe.    Read moreMy husband and I read great reviews and looked at photos and decided to try this place today. When we walked in, the place was barely lit. So dark it took a minute for my eyes to adjust given how sunny it was outside.
It was almost silent inside. There was a hint of background music, but even whispering to my husband felt like yelling. The room was full of people on laptops, so we thought maybe we just walked in at a weird time.
We proceeded to look at the menu where the barista asked what we would like. I asked if they made their syrups in house or what brand they used and he said âI think 1883.â Not sure why he wasnât aware.
I ordered an iced vanilla matcha and my husband ordered a hot vanilla latte. The girl who was helping the barista seemed very confused since it seemed the barista took our order in the wrong spot. She then went to help him and made my matcha. I watched her barely whisk it and it had clumps everywhere.
She then never handed me my drink, but left it sitting beside her without a lid. I had to ask where the lids were to which she cordially replied on the back wall and pointed.
My husbandâs âlatteâ was way more cappuccino milk with way too much foam on top.
We had planned on working from there all day, but couldnât get out of there fast enough. We left and immediately dumped our drinks and went somewhere else.
Overall, the quality of drinks wasnât good, the atmosphere was very resistible, and the service was medium (the barista was nicer, the girl checking us out was not friendly).
Not trying to just be someone who just leaves a bad review, but as a coffee shop owner, I would want to know if someone had this type of...
Read moreThis is my go to Houndstooth location of all houndstoothâs in Dallas. The way I usually judge a coffee shop is by their house coffee(medium) and houndstoothâs Foxtrot just does the job consistently. This is what I usually get and somehow itâs very consistent at Henderson location, it always has the slight sour end which is the distinct taste of their medium roast. At some other locationâs like on Sylvan Ave, it can fluctuate. Other than the regular house coffee, their Flat White is pretty epic!!! Highly recommend! The balance of expresso to milk is just perfect. Additionally, they have tacos from Taco Deli and some nice offerings like Muffins and croissants from local shop. The vibe here is also a pretty chill one. Iâd recommend a visit to anyone...
