After five years in Dallas, I’m ready to declare this place as my favorite pizza joint. You know how pizza looks in cartoons? They always look impossibly delicious with plenty of cheese. I always hated that I would never be able to taste that pizza. Well, Lovers is as close as you can get in the real world. The toppings, the cheese, the crust, every bite is pure satisfaction.
Today, I tried their meatball sub for the first time (I’ve ordered the meatballs as an appetizer before so I knew they were good) and it was amazing just like everything else.
I love the simplicity of the place too. While other pizza joints have a menu of crazy specialty pizzas (and there’s definitely a time and place for those) the straightforwardness of Lover’s pizza menu and toppings really helps focus the quality of the final product.
I can’t recommend them enough. Whenever anyone asks me what I think about them, all I have to say is “cartoon pizza” and they know exactly what I mean, and they come back and tell me they...

I liked this pizza place until I found a ROACH in my Stromboli. It was difficult to identify the insect, because it was cooked into the food. The remains of the insect were wholly intact and closely resembled and appeared to be that of a ROACH. I notified the manager (the gentleman with the tattoos) and he quickly took the infested food to the kitchen and did not return to our table. My husband, son and I were not even offered an apology or refund. We promptly vacated the premise after receiving no relief. Our stomachs are still upset literally and figuratively at the thought of all the ROACHES we possibly ingested before discovering the ROACH surrounded by cheese. Visited:...

They didn't bother to tell me they don't deliver to SMU, and when I asked them to deliver across the street to my house instead, where I've had them deliver easily 12 times over the years, they threw a hissy fit. They had no problem changing the address; they just didn't seem to comprehend the simplicity of an address close to campus not being on campus. SO they refused to deliver to the address they've been delivering to for 7 years and went on a rant about SMU's campus. It was like talking to a wall trying to talk them back down. If you want clientele, you need to a) treat them with respect and b) not bias against them just because they're associated with SMU. Don't deliver on campus? Great, that's your problem. I don't care, and after I changed the address, its not what I was...
