My family and I are currently on a cross country road trip and we found ourselves passing through Dallas about lunch time and promised the kiddos pizza. I scoured google to find a place that would check all the boxes. A delicious local gem with ample parking for our truck and camper trailer and the thing all road weary parents need… Beer. Pizza Getti doesn’t serve alcohol but is BYOB, per the website. Color me intrigued. I call in to place a order and Kyle answers and is very friendly and helpful. He even checked to see if I was calling the right location as the caller ID showed my out of state area code. Upon arrival, we are greeted with smiles by staff and regulars alike. This is a local haunt for sure and packed with regular customers. Kyle happens to be cutting our pizzas as we walk in and somehow knew the order was for us. He’s unfazed when we ask if we can eat our takeout pizza in the dining room and Nicole, the super sweet server, seats us quickly. She and Kyle offered us plates but we insisted on eating our pizza out of the boxes like the heathens we are. Nicole checked on us several times and was an absolute doll. Kyle, who turned out to be the owner, checked on us as well as Jamie, one of the cooks. The pizzas were delicious and the service and hospitality was unmatched, but I wouldn’t expect anything less of an establishment that’s been around for 50 plus years. We left with full tummies and hearts, feeling like part...
Read moreThis place tastes like nostalgia, and I mean that in the best way possible. We were referred here from some east Dallas friends and it did not disappoint.
Not a huge menu, very simplistic. I feel like the recipes they use are the exact same that they've been using for 40 plus years. It's a small little restaurant in a strip center, but it has character inside.
Had a lot of long-term employees, the place was pretty busy. We took recommendations from our server, and the food came out hot and fresh and rather quickly.
This is not fancy Italian, as a matter of fact the garlic toast is made on white bread. But it tasted great, almost like the meals you had at home when you were a kid. People rave this is the best thin crust pizza around. I thoroughly enjoyed the lasagna and the spaghetti with meat sauce which had a little bit of a spice to it.
All in all, I felt like a kid again in really enjoyed the home style of it and the simplicity of it. My wife and I will...
Read moreI recently moved to East Dallas and I have been looking for my go to pizza place. Well I think I have found it. I stumbled on a mention about Pizza Getti on a message board. I google it and was surprised to find it was just down the road from me. I ordered pizza tonight (Friday). I had a 13" with Double Pepperoni and Onions. I don't think they offer delivery but I went and picked it up. It was ready in 20 mins.. it was hot and fresh. The service was spot one... very friendly and it was a busy place. All the things I like to see. The pizza was very good too. Thin crust, slightly sweet but tomatoy sauce. Good pepperoni (could have been a little thicker) and great cheese. I will be going back. UPDATE: I went back again and the pizza was even better than...
