Carina's pizza is incredibly delicious and the carefully curated ingredients and artisanship are the best I've seen in Dallas. The fermented sourdough pizza dough is made in house with wild yeast through an arduous process that takes days (ask the owner specifics while you're there). We arrived at a busy time but the food came to our table very fast. We tried the Margherita, pepperoni, and the Carina. All 3 were incredible but Carina was our favorite pie. We also tried the meatballs and they were fantastic. The owner was very welcoming. They have really awesome lunch specials. The pizza is very easy to digest and light on my stomach. We drive 30 minutes each way once a week because we get cravings. Update: Every time we go, they add new menu items. Today we tried the mozzarella sticks made with sourdough breading and they are incredible. Also tried the calzone and the honey cake recently and we loved both. The Jesse Pinkman with meatballs are outstanding. The meatballs are made of grass fed beef and sourdough bread and match perfectly on this pie. The owner just added a skinnier version of the pizza that's perfect for summer. I tried the skinny Margherita and it's perfection.

Carnia Pizzeria is hands down the best pizza spot in Dallas. They do Roman-style Thymius Crispius Naturally Leavened pizza, and you can taste the difference—everything is incredibly fresh, perfectly crisp, and made with real care. I've been coming here at least twice a week, and every single time, the quality and consistency are spot on. The Margherita is a classic done right—fresh mozzarella, basil, and olive oil on a crust that’s light but crispy in all the right ways. And the Tony? The all-beef pepperoni is next-level. But if you’re here, do yourself a favor and grab a square slice, too. Beyond the food, the place is immaculate. You can tell everyone here genuinely cares about what they do, from the ingredients to the cleanliness of the restaurant. It reminds me of the pizza we had in Italy—real passion, real quality, and people who love making great food. This has become our family’s go-to for Friday pizza nights, and I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re in Dallas and love great pizza, Carnia Pizzeria is a must.

The crust should play a leading role in any good pizza. Carina succeeds. Slow fermented to build flavor, hand stretched to order, producing a pliable thin crust that is sturdy enough for toppings, and crisp-tender to chew. Unlike too many other pizza joints in the area, this crust has FLAVOR! Can’t wait to try some of their sandwich offerings using the same dough. This pizza is more of a Roman style, I believe. It’s not a Neapolitan or a New York style. But if you like either of these, and enjoy a lighter thin crust, I’m pretty sure you will love this one. I like that the pizza is small, so you can enjoy a couple of different ones if you are a couple, or devour one on your own without feeling overly stuffed. Quality toppings too for a departure from the standard old-school American style fare. Different and delicious.

I was driving by this place on the way home from work and just got curious, so I checked the Google Maps review to see that it had a 5.0 rating with over 100 reviews. That was quite shocking, and in my anecdotal experience rare.

My wife and I decided to try it out, simply based on the above.

This place is nothing to look at. It's not run down, but it's not luxurious in any way, they're just cranking pizza. This is admirable in the era of Instagram etc. where new restaurants over deliver on atmosphere and have a mediocre product. To understand Pizzeria Carina is to experience this equation get flipped. I wouldn't call the atmosphere mediocre, it's just purpose driven, and they over deliver on product.

I'm pretty sure the owner is from Italy/Europe and so are most of his staff (though I didn't ask). However, while I was waiting for them to complete my order, the couple sitting next to me were clearly not from the states. I asked them if it was their first time eating pizza here, and they said no. They're from Italy and this place is a 1:1 replication of what they know and love. They went in depth on the menu and how it reflects the way pizza is made in Italy. I was somewhat floored by this.

In any case, the real test was bringing it home to the family. After tasting... this is the best carry out pizza in range of North Dallas. The one downside is that the crust is so thin, it cools quickly, and I like my pizza hot. Outside of that, it was 10/10 best pizza I've had in Dallas and I've been here for 30+ years.

My self centeredness would dictate I do not write this review (to keep it a secret), but I met the owner and he's just so customer focused on delivering what he knows best. I can't help but admire him and hope for their continued success. We're lucky to have this...

I've sampled countless pizzerias, but very few capture the essence of truly exceptional pizza quite like Pizzeria Carina. This establishment isn't just "amazing" – it's a revelation for anyone who appreciates the artistry of pizza.

What immediately sets Pizzeria Carina apart is its masterful crispy thin crust. Forget floppy, doughy foundations; here, every slice boasts that perfect, satisfying crunch with each bite. It's the kind of crust that offers an ideal balance of delicate crispness and a delightful chew, forming the perfect stage for their incredible toppings.

And the secret to this perfection? The dough is crafted from sourdough. This isn't just a detail; it's a game-changer. The sourdough imbues the crust with a nuanced, slightly tangy flavor and an airy texture that's simply unparalleled. It elevates the entire pizza experience, adding depth and character you won't find just anywhere.

Beyond the phenomenal crust, the savory toppings are clearly curated for flavor and quality. Each ingredient sings, from the rich, vibrant tomato sauce to the premium cheeses and the fresh, thoughtfully sourced meats and vegetables. They don't just pile things on; they compose a symphony of tastes that perfectly complements the sourdough base.

If you cherish authentic, crispy thin crust pizza that bursts with savory flavors and is built on a foundation of truly exceptional sourdough crust Pizzeria Carina will undoubtedly become your forever pizza place. It's more than just a meal; it's an experience that continually calls you back for more.

Highly, highly...

See update below!

What a pleasant surprise! Delicious thin crust pizza, a MUST try! I have found my new pizza place, delicious pizza, quality ingredients, and a quaint atmosphere.

Update: I couldn’t wait to try this place a second time. Sadly, my second visit was not as enjoyable. I walked in, there was an older bald man helping a gentleman who appeared to have been eating there. I was never acknowledge. I sat down, still unacknowledged, the gentleman started putting stuff up and doing things around the restaurant, still ignoring me. A man came in to pick up an order, I still was not acknowledged. At that point I got up and went to the counter and told somebody else that I was waiting for a pizza ordered. Shortly thereafter a very sweet lady gave me my pizza to go. The pizza did not smell as good in the car as it did the first time. When I opened the box, the pizza was literally black around the entire edge of the pizza. This pizza was just OK nothing special, but not so bad that I would not try again. However, I probably will never go again because of that lack of knowledge that I was even in the restaurant by that older gentleman. He could’ve at least said I’ll be right with you or welcome or something, but it was like I was invisible. There are too many pizza places in Dallas...
