This is first time EVER writing a review on a restaurant. I am a foody so I usually fully enjoy all restaurants and have awesome times, and if I go to a place on an "off night" , then I keep it to myself as every place has off-nights. No issue with the food, or initial service, or live music...all was good. Let's Talk about the PARKING SCAM for the restaurant parking...The Parking Operator Lot that is immediately next the restaurant (it appears to be their parking, just drive by and take a look for yourself) has a QR code scan system to use for parking. It is expensive parking, but "hey" no problem there. The problem is they give you a two hour option and then the next level is a full day option at much higher rate. I parked, paid for two hours...and had dinner. Came out after 2 hours and 19 minutes (yeah I was late, that was on me) and I didn't see a way to pay for the 19 minutes or the next one hour/two hour increment. It is unattended, so no help available to figure it out and I drove off. After about 20 days I received a Parking Notice (with very good photos of the entry/exit to the parking lot...so no money wasted there on equipment for the operator) and a bill for $92 . I called the restaurant today and the person who answered was very "short and impatient" and repeated that they don't own the parking and if I had any questions, I could speak the owner. I could tell that I was not the first person to call and ask on this. She told me to speak to the owner, I asked if they were available (they were not) and that I need to email them. I asked for the email address and she said I don't have time to give this to you...I am serving people... and hung up. At the beginning of the call I mentioned that they should have put up signs to notify customers walking in on the parking situation, but she had no time to hear that, and hung up. So, BEWARE, if you go there you are going to have to either park further away for free, or use the lot by their front door (immediately by their front door...no separation) and get ready to eat quick; pay for far too many hours to park; or pay the $92 fine for staying 19 minutes over the QR code time. Sorry for the long-winded note and the possibility of me "playing the victim"...but the experience now lives as a HORRIBLE parking experience and not a WONDERFUL dining experience. Bon...

Wow was this spot great! It's that date night super-spot. The uniqueness makes it special that's for sure. Culinary-wise it's off the charts. We came in, sat down and took it all in. I called the owner Jimmy over and just said, "first time here, if you were on a first date with this wonderful woman here, how would you hook up the evening." That's all it took and he was off and running!

~ First were the Spicy Tamale Bites- 10 outta 10. ~ Then Jalapeño Artichoke Dip and Chips- 10 outta 10

~ Then six tacos & a bottle of wine. The tacos all had a personal twist-

*COCHINITA PIBIL Pulled pork braised in bitter orange & achiote topped with house cabbage slaw

*BLACKENED BAJA Blackened catfish, seared a la plancha, finished with lettuce, chipotle aioli, pico de gallo, and pickled onions

*BEEF CHORIQUESO Beef chorizo, grilled with whole milk mozzarella, folded on a flour tortilla, and finished with grilled onions

*BRISKET GUISO Stewed brisket finished with pickled corn, cilantro crema, radish, and queso fresco *CHILE RELLENO TACO

Hatch pepper, mozzarella ala plancha, calabaza, chayote, tomato, garlic, and onion, served in a La Nortena white corn tortilla (vegan without cheese)

*CRISPY PORK CARNITAS Pork shoulder, chicharrones, pico de gallo, Mexican crema, and queso fresco

All chef picks, and all 10/10 awesome! Wine pick matched up perfectly also.

Make sure to hit this place up!

Now we just need them to put a Nana's Cheesecake filled Churro on the desert menu! LOL

Thank you to Jimmy and Steven for making the evening...

Been wanting to come here for a while and it did not disappoint. Loved the space immediately, just a fun vibe and perfectly fits the place. The wine list is awesome, we often go to the holly in Fort Worth for natural wines and this is the first time outside of going there that I’ve found a wine list I was really excited about-awesome selection with a little bit of everything, well priced and a lot of offerings by the glass. Love their 6 tacos and a bottle of wine deal-great idea. The tamale bites were maybe my favorite bite. They were crispy like fried, so not soft and steamed like a Tamal (so the name is a little misleading, more like crispy stuffed masa bites) but delicious nonetheless, would come again for those alone, I was tempted to get a second order. The jalapeño artichoke dip was also really good. The little bit of heat from the peppers was a nice balance to what’s normally a rich and dense appetizer. The tacos were good. Not the best I’ve ever had but all tasty….they had a lot of fun options, menu was playful and I really liked that you could mix and match, not everywhere let’s you do that (for their 3 tacos for $12 selection). The choriqueso taco was our favorite, the tempura fried shrimp taco was our second favorite. None of the tacos were bad, but those were the favs of the day. The churro bites for dessert were also good! It was a bit chilly that day so we sat at the bar but the patio looked nice! Definitely...
