So I wanted to give this place a try ever since I saw someone post a picture of the pozole. It looked so yummy and authentic! We finally went to give it a try and it seems that they have moved to a bigger and nicer location. It’s just a little down the road from their original location so that was good.
Pros: •Service was amazing! We even had what looked like the owners come and make sure everything was ok. •They are open almost all year long with early and late hours. •They have Karaoke and entertainment on weekends (mariachis, performers, etc... ) •Overall taste of the food was pretty good •I completely loved the fact that they had real natural lemonade
Cons: •the amount of food you get is a much smaller portion compared to other restaurants I have been to. (example, my mom and I got a menudo and a pozole; the bowl was small, almost like a cereal bowl) It definitely left me wanting more. •being that it’s a Mexican restaurant, I would have thought that the chips and salsa would be complimentary, but was told that there would be a charge if I wanted them brought out. •Price is unusually high. once I received my bill, I noticed that the small guacamole I had ordered (which you can see in one of the pictures behind the pozole ) was $7.99! I thought it was a bit steep for such a small amount considering that’s the price for a large guacamole at various other places we’ve been to. I could only imagine what the price was for the large one is. •unannounced price changes- I had to let them know that on the menu, the guacamole was listed as $4.99 so I asked why the higher price on my bill? The cashier let me know that it was the old menu’s price and since the waitress forgot to mention that to me she honored the $4.99 for the small guacamole. Which was very nice of them
Overall for taste, I give it 4 stars service is a solid 5 stars Price is 3 stars Despite the higher than normal prices and smaller portions, I’m inclined to try out one of their regular plates. Hopefully the awesome service and taste make the bill a little...
Read moreI had high expectations for this restaurant after seeing it on TikTok, and my wife and I were excited all week to try it. Unfortunately, the experience was a huge letdown.
When we arrived, we were seated at table 15 and waited around ten minutes before anyone took our order. We asked for the ranchero wings, mini trompo, and a fajita tostada with asadero, along with a Jamaica water and a paloma.
The wings came out quickly, but I requested extra sauce that was never brought. Our waitress was nowhere to be found, and we had to ask another server to call her over. While waiting, we noticed that two other tables near us, both seated after us, were served their food before ours. We flagged down our waitress, who told us our food would be out shortly, but we waited much longer.
After noticing more tables receiving their food, a food runner finally brought out the side beans for our mini trompo, yet the rest of our order was still missing. My wife eventually flagged down a manager who promised to check but never returned. Another server came by, said he’d inform the manager, and still, no one addressed the issue.
By this point, it had been over an hour and a half. Frustrated, I finally spoke with a gentleman who seemed like the owner (wearing a Monterrey shirt whom we had observed eating Mole beforeat a table with other people). I explained the situation and asked to be charged just for the wings and drinks while canceling the rest of our order. He mentioned that our mini trompo had been served to the wrong table and then, with an attitude, offered the food for free, as though we were asking to avoid payment.
This experience was deeply disappointing, especially after looking forward to this meal all week. We won’t be coming back, and I regret wasting our time and our...
Read moreI really wanted to try this place but unfortunately left after waiting an hour to receive our main dishes. It was our first time here. We arrived around 2:30 PM and put down our names on the waitlist. We were told we’d be seated around 3:10-3:20 PM and actually were sat around 2:40 PM. The waitress came by the table 10 minutes in and grabbed our drink orders. After we received our drinks she came by again to take our food order in which I gave her our appetizers and main dishes. She came by after 10 minutes to hand off our salsa to which she never came by again to ask if we needed anything for the time being or refill drinks. We waited until 3:40~ and decided we would leave. We hadn’t received our queso flameado which was our other app. Our orders were tacos, tostadas de camarón and a burrito- so I don’t really understand why it took an hour of us waiting. We called the hostess over so that she could charge us for what we have received which prompted our waitress to come over. She told the young lady who was closing out our tab that our food wasn’t ready still so who knows how much longer we would have waited for something as simple as tacos and tostadas…. Do not recommend unless you plan on waiting! Mind you the restaurant wasn’t even packed. There were maybe 8-9 parties also seated, some of which had already received their food. We ended up being charged for our drinks which came out to $14- an horchata/agua de piña and Mexican coke. Please work with your kitchen staff, it’s deterring any new...
