I just had the displeasure of working with Lyza. Deposits were paid($50 consult and $700 for the dress), she had over 5 months to make the dress but delayed and did not deliver to my satisfaction after resching out to her monthly for a timeline on when the dress will be completed enough for the first fitting. The finished product was evidently a rushed job, she even glued the appliques that she should have been sewn onto the dress; yes, those were starting to fall off before the reception. Furthermore, she is terrible with conjunction, she changed the design without my consent saying it had to be done due to change of fabric. Then made the dress at least a size too small that I couldn't sit or breathe properly while sitting when wearing it. What's worse is that she claimed she couldn't do anything about the dress, even though we were 3 days away from my wedding. Needless to say, it took me and 4 of my family members going to her office to at least get her to adjust the dress to something that I can actually use. Even after the adjustment, I had to wear the dress with safety pins because the overlay skirt was too big once I was in the dress. I inquired about having a wedding gown made, but wanted to actually SEE the needlework and craftsmanship in person before booking an official consultation to discuss my vision for my wedding dress. Photos do not indicate quality of work. Everyone has their own business practices, but this person requires a potential client pay $50 to even look at something she’s created in person. As a consumer this feels unreasonable, and inconsiderate. If you really stand by the quality of your work, a request to see some of your pieces in person would be no issue, and perhaps an opportunity to wow a potential client. My experience with Lyzafaye was amazing from start to finish. The consult was smooth and easy - I had no style in mind but from my description of the event I would be wearing the dress to, she understood what I needed and came up with a design that was the perfect fit for my body type. When I went for my fitting, I was dumbfounded when I saw my dress because it was gorgeous. The theme of the event I wore the dress to was ‘Show me what you’ve got’ and boy, did Lyzafaye deliver or what! She understood the assignment and she didn’t just deliver but went above and beyond.
