Rustic and delicious best describes the food here. Service was prompt and with the warmth you'd expect from a family operated business. It was moderately busy during our visit. So I'm not sure how that would be affected when lunch is in full swing. I had the "carne en su jugo"(beef in its juice). The flavors and presentation brought back childhood memories of sitting at a food stand in the local plaza in small town Mexico. On the table sat homemade pickled carrots and jalapenos. Crunchy, tangy and not overly spicy. They were the perfect pairing for the dish. Being the big eater that I am, I also ordered a barbacoa and a beef tongue taco. The barbacoa is very rustic in flavor and perhaps not what the average American would be used to. The beef tongue was tender and juicy however I feel like it could have been seasoned or salted a little more. Overall it was a good experience. Hope to have them around for another thirty years!

What can I say? Taqueria Chanos has been a beloved part of the Oak Cliff community since the 1990s. Originally a small, quick-serve spot, it quickly became a local favorite. I first fell in love with their carne asada burrito years ago, and the rest is history—especially when paired with their delicious pickled carrots. I’ve been coming here since I was 15 years old, and every visit takes me back to those days when cruising through Oak Cliff was a popular pastime. Low riders, muscle cars, and tricked-out rides were everywhere, and the sense of community was strong. Taqueria Chanos has stood the test of time, continuing to serve great food and great memories. I highly recommend stopping by and trying their amazing burritos!

Very yummy had the Mexico D.F taco style where the tortilla is dipped in water and grease then quick flattop The condiments were good pickled carrots As far as tacos 1 n 5 Barbacoa 4 good taste a lil runny Asada 2 no flavor or salt Lengua 2 no flavor tasted watered down Tripa 1 over crispy like it's been re fried no flavor to much grease If they improve taste ill come back

Worst experience at an authentic restaurant as you can get. First time coming to try this place as we are not from here and were in the area. As we sat down at the table we were brought an "appetizer" plate of pickled carrots, didn't like it at all. Was first time at mexican restaurant where served that instead of chips and salsa. After ordering a side of rice we were brought out a small plate of rice priced $1.50 and was barely a few spoonfuls not even worth it. Was told by waiter the cook is the owner and actually stingy with the food. If could rate 0 stars I would. Have to order off the menus on the walls with pictures used from google. Worst part was where most of us ordered tacos. I love tacos and was my FIRST time ever to not eat them all! At $2 a taco been the most expensive not good at all tacos. So damn greasy and no good flavor on the meat. They use double tortilla which in some places are good and able to take off the extra if you dont want to eat both. These were just stuck together making a thick small greasy ass tacos. Have had not so pleasant food experiences before at other places but this restaurant is on top of the list. Theres is no passion in this restaurant where you can taste it in the food but not here. Surprised by the few people that would go there and eat comfortable. My pregnant sister was disgusted by the food. The rest of us as I'm writing this review are heading back home with stomaches aching from the greasy food.. This review sums up how this restaurant operates. If you read this review before heading to that place.. You have been...

Wife took me here when we first got together.. And I love it! The trademark carrots and jalapeños in vinegar are awesome.. Never have I eaten something like this.. The Tacos and the food is authentic Mexican food.. We have to travel from Mansfield every time just to eat good Mexican food.. I've tried and none of the Mexican places I've been too in Mansfield compare to the real Tacos from here.. Although I've been told by a particular.. Establishment called Pepper's Tacos (Mexican tacos) 😂here whom I made a bad review about.. That obviously I don't have good taste for food and that obviously there establishment isn't for me.. Lol.. I mean what humble business puts down a customer because of one bad review.. Lol.... Chanos has been here for years and always has business.. That tells you alot about a restaurant.... Keep up the good work guys yall deserve all the good reviews cause we'll your authentic.. But what do i...
