Toastique — Restaurant in Dallas

UPDATE: Would you have liked for me to walk out with my son and not place an order? He was not unattended. I chased after him anytime he walked away. He did not touch anything behind the counter and was smiling ear to ear trying to get a hello from you. Do not ever lay a hand on anyone’s child without permission. Your attitude, eye rolling and NO GREETING from the moment we walked in was clear. I didn’t want to mention but let’s hope it wasn’t because of my race.

Came here today with a friend. I have 2 year old twins and one of my sons grabbed a plant sitting on a low shelf. The blonde older woman Penny came over and snatched it from his hand and grabbed my son and gave me a dirty look and walked away. (Check cameras and see that she put her hands on my son). I was one foot away leaning down to grab him while she intruded. As I was looking at the menu my son ran behind the counter and I ran after him and grabbed him before he touched anything. I never once left him unattended. The first thing she said was “ma’am that’s enough, he can’t go back there”. I looked at her and said “obviously he can’t go back there which is why I ran after him to grab him”. I’m sorry but there is no sign that says no kids allowed in this small toast and smoothie place. Why so much attitude? I never once turned my back on my kids and was just trying to look at the menu while trying to entertain them before the food came out. The plan was to order food and eat outside. Really bad vibes. The 2 younger girls taking orders were sweet but Penny is miserable to be out for...

In this day and age with all the illnesses especially COVID it’s imperative to be sanitary especially working around food! The older blonde lady at the counter taking orders aaannnd making the smoothies DO NOT WASH HER HANDS!!! I don’t even think she understands the concept. She literally coughed in one of her hands before answering my question and proceeded to make my smoothies. I thought okay she’s just scooping things with utensils, I’ll just calm down. Then she proceeded to fix my second smoothie and cut up the orange with ABSOLUTELY NO GLOVES ON! So I said “excuse me you don’t wear gloves” she says “I can put some on” Talk about disgusting 🤮 she put gloves on but not once did it cross her mind to wash her hands first?!?!? With smoothies costing $9.00+ and they’re not very friendly. Idk if her and the guy got into an argument but they were not pleasant at all. I regret stepping a foot in this place!

I went to this place because I received a flyer in my mail. When I was placing my order, the blonde lady at the front (registers) had a really bad attitude, making me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I tried to ignore it and showed her the flyer for a free smoothie. She didn’t say anything, so I assumed she applied the coupon. However, when I got home, I realized she charged me for the smoothie. I didn’t receive the free one as the flyer promised. I was at the right location, met the requirements, and the offer was still valid. I know it was just a smoothie, but her attitude made me feel really bad. Even when she brought the food to the table, she did so in a rude manner. She acted completely different with the customers behind me. She was being racist towards me. The staff member who handled the drinks was very nice.
