Upside West Village — Restaurant in Dallas

So we get into the bar, this girl start yelling hey hey hey hey .for a minute I thought she was yelling at someone else or maybe her kids or something , so i keep walking in with my husband eventually we walk to the patio to see if we can find sitting outside before we can order anything because we literally drove an hour to this location for the first time and wanted to see the view ,so we didn’t wanna just order drinks or food and not have any place to sit outside , she keeps yelling at us , then she says order at the bar before you can go sit outside , my husband walks back to the bar and tells this lady ( Chelsea the bartender )I’m just trying to see if we can sit outside before we order our drinks or food and why are you yelling at us like we stole something….. So we stood in front of the bar trying to order our drinks they were so rude and gave us some funny looks and responses …they were not nice to us at all but were super nice to the other guest at the bar. I don’t know why they thought it was okay to treat us differently . Chelsea later came outside to buss the table and she was apologetic saying it’s a misunderstanding…….. and I told her you can’t literally yell or look down on people because you work here , and as someone in the service industry you don’t yell at your guest or talk to them rudely because they’re different or what ever . Was set to have my first baby shower here with friends and family flying in town on Labor Day weekend. I had everything confirmed with a contract and had my food and beverage menu selected. Was contacted 4 days before my event and told the AC was not properly working and they would need to move my group. They don’t have any additional space so we’re just going to dump me in the hotel lobby which is completely different vibe than Upside it’s a darkroom with no view and a check in desk. They knew about this a week before my event and didn’t inform me until it was too late for me to even have a back up plan. Not one call from management, no offer to help secure another venue or offer to take the catering I paid for offsite. The entire situation was handled very unprofessionally and with complete disregard to the customer on the other side of their decision. As a first time mom trying to co host something special for my friends and family to be thrown into that stressful with 4 days to figure it out on a holiday weekend cause so much unbelievable stress. I even gave them a chance to contact me to make it right and still have not even received a call or email...

We’ve visited Upside West Village a few times now, and it’s always such a great time—especially when the weather is nice! It truly offers one of the best rooftop views of Dallas, making it a go-to spot when you want to soak in the city skyline.

On our most recent visit, it was noticeably busier than usual due to the cheerleading competitions happening in town that weekend, so there were quite a few teens around, which made the atmosphere a bit more lively (and a little chaotic at moments).

Despite the crowd, our server was friendly and attentive, handling the busy vibe really well. I wish I remembered her name because she did a great job keeping up with everyone.

I was there celebrating with a group of friends, and everyone enjoyed their drinks. My husband and I ordered the meat and cheese board to share, which was a nice pairing with our cocktails, and we finished it off with a chocolate cake dessert to celebrate my birthday.

Overall, even with the larger crowd, the experience was solid. Upside West Village continues to be a favorite for its stunning views, relaxed atmosphere, and consistently good service. We’ll definitely be...
