I won a free blowout and makeup service that was good Mon-Thurs through September. On Wednesday, I called and asked if I could come in Friday instead if I forego the makeup. Seemed like a fair trade off to me. After a long hold, I was told the STORE manager approved and my appt was booked. Parking and checking in was quick and easy. My stylist went over what I wanted before shampooing me. Once I was back in my seat with soaking wet hair, the front desk girl came over and said the REGIONAL manager did not approve of the change. I was told if I left a (positive) review, she would give me a discounted price of $30 for the blowout. Full price is $49. I was shocked and mortified. They had ample time to call me beforehand or to let me know when I checked in that they were no longer going to honor the agreement, instead they waited until I was in the middle of the service. After going back and forth with her, I politely declined this "offer" and the stylist graciously gave me a rough blow dry so I wouldn't have to leave with wet hair. When she finished, the front desk girl came back and said the regional manager now agreed to honor the coupon. The whole thing was just so embarrassing. As for the blowout itself, my stylist did what I asked for but I was disappointed she didn't use any of the products sitting in front me (not even a heat protectant). I would recommend going to the Drybar location down the street instead of this place. Will definitely not be coming back.

Julissa did a gorgeous braided updo for me and I received SO many compliments that night!! Definitely coming back any time I need my hair done.

So, I do like this place and I will recommend it for make up, but I did not enjoy my hair experience. I loved my make up! It was gorgeous and just what I wanted. My hair was the problem. I told the stylist I wanted a voluminous blowout but with curls. Okay, that isn't that hard right? Well to start off, the water was freezing cold when I got my hair washed. I was willing to look past that. Then, while bow drying, I was hit in the head or ear no less than 10 times. I wasn't injured or anything obviously, but from such a highfalutin place, that is not the expectation. I felt like I was being rushed. Then my hair stylist asks the woman coordinating all of the appointments if I was her last client. So at that point I felt even more rushed. Once my hair was done it was nearly totally straight. She said do you love it? I responded with telling her I thought it would be more curly like I asked. And she proceeds to tell me that my hair didn't curl with with the curl brush and blow dryer the way she hoped... Well then grab the curling iron and fix it? I mean, in my photos my hair is completely flat. I didn't have time to fix it and I am completely regretful on how my hair will look in these photos forever. My hair in the photo is after I took 10 minutes to try and quickly curl it has much as I could.

I was recommended by a friend to use BAM and my experience was absolutely horrible. I booked a blowout in Plano for 7am and a Bohemian makeup +brow from the uptown location at 9:15 am for a photo shoot at 11 am.. Both locations were completely closed when I got there so I had to call and wait for the stylist to arrive, Plano gave me a bit of a discount and was very apologetic. BAM uptown employees just laughed it off and opened a couple mins after my apt was supposed to start claiming I was the first apt of the day so they opened late.. Then they took a walk in make up apt before me which was very frustrating because I had plans and was told I’m the first apt and they said “She’s just doing eyes it will only be like 15-20 mins!” As if that made it okay, but I waited patiently. When the make up artist finally took me he asked if I had a time I needed to be done by, I said 10:30, he reassured it’d definitely be sooner than that, and asked what I had in mind. I showed him a few sample pictures I’d brought and asked for a “not quite as dark” but this overall look. He was very friendly, asked about what I had going on so I told him about my photo shoot and all seemed well. X amount of time later, he pulls the mirror out and my face was shockingly dark, very over exaggerated, but I was running out of time to ask for anything to be redone, as my curls from Plano were mostly fallen out and I knew I’d have to stop on the way to purchase some kind of volumizing product. So I paid and returned to my car, got on Snapchat to show my friend and could not get a good picture to save my life. Horrified I look in the mirror (natural lighting) and see a clown face staring back at me, the eye make up up close was god awful, not blended at all, the “cut crease” was up closer to my brow and looked like he took an eyeliner pencil and drew it on, my contour looked like he covered my face and chin with bronzer (again not blended) it was ORANGE. And the pretty lipstick color he blended in front of me looked way brighter than the color showed in store and was already bleeding outside the lines of my lips.. I got my emailed receipt and figured out he took it upon himself to give me the “bespoke” make over which I specifically did not want because I didn’t want caked on crown make up. COMPLETE waste of money, waste of time. Left me flustered, unconfident , and nervous for my shoot. I literally had to get make up wipes and remove/redo my lips, top half of my eye make up, and blend correct color foundation over the whole thing with 10 mins left after travel time. My hair, though fallen out and not what I wanted, at least still looked pretty, but I will never trust a salon “professional” for my make up...

This is my 3rd time at BAM and it was an absolute disaster. The whole experience just seemed like they were surprised I was there at 9:55AM for my appointment time at 10 even though it had been on the book for 2 weeks.

I was brought back late and the receptionist ended up washing my hair. I was brought back after the lady in front of me and my shampoo was done BEFORE the lady that was brought back before me. It was super sloppy - first the water was super hot and then during the rinse it was freezing cold, like she wasn't even paying attention to the temperature. She forgot my scalp massage, which she realized after the fact, like she hadn't even looked at my booking before getting me started. After the shampoo, asked me if I wanted something to drink and I never saw it or heard about it again.

After the shampoo, she brought me back to the chair and I sat there for over 10 minutes. They were like still figuring out who was actually going to do my hair. When she finally did show up after the receptionist went back to get her, it seemed like my stylist was pissed off at the whole world. She barely spoke, didn't smile, and acted like I was ruining her day.

Never asked how anything was at the end, never apologized for the wait, never heard about my "complimentary scalp massage," just took my payment and sent me on my way.

The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 was because my hair did end up looking nice, but I honestly felt like I was bothering everyone there, which was super uncomfortable.

I did end up reaching out to the salon afterwards and I was offered "$20 off on your next visit and along with complimentary deep conditioning and scalp massage. We would love to see you again as a valued client."

Maybe it's just me but when you value a client, you need to go above and beyond to get that client back after a negative experience. This seems like bare minimum. I promise I won't...

As soon as we walked in (group of 5 WITH reservations for my best friends 30th), the lady at the check in desk seemed very irritated and wasn’t friendly… told her we were there to celebrate my best friends 30th, trying to be excited, she looked at me and said “ohh” almost like, okay?! And?! So we just went with it… told her 3 times (when the appointment was made the week prior over the phone) of services that I wanted for the birthday girl, and twice when we got there and the service wasn’t done… when the stylist was told about the service my friend was supposed to also be getting her response was “well you still haven’t left the bowl, so we can still do it if you want”, almost like she was annoyed she had to do it… my personal stylist was awesome and considerate, again this is about my best friend, THE BIRTHDAY GIRL’S stylist… 4 out of our 5 girls were brought back almost immediately, 1 of our girls waited 45 minutes, literally, to get brought back because a “walk in” came in around the same time as us… even though WE HAD APPOINTMENTS!!!! Most of the staff seemed very annoyed to be working there and barely anyone smiled or even tried to make the best of our visit. Yes it’s a beautiful business, but very little customer service or even a smile… the birthday girl wasn’t even asked if she liked her hair after we showed the stylist a picture of what she wants (basic curls with lots of volume), walked off and we had to ask the manager for a touch up because her hair literally was already falling, again they seemed irritated.,. Overall, not the best service at all, almost all staff seemed like they hated their job and annoyed to be there. A couple of our stylists we had were great with styling and attentive.. we will not be back, kind of...
