after visiting the universal studios ca and houston locations, i can say this is the most welcoming location. luckily, when i stopped in the place was empty, but a line slowly formed as I made my selection. this is also the most kid friendly; with the "cock-n-balls" not being decorated and the attendant referring to it as "the big t" when children are present. now for the coffee and donuts:
coffee/cold brew: unfortunately my batch was burned, you could smell it before tasting. added a premier protein shake to lighten up the taste.
grape ape: the grape flavoring had a slight blueberry vibe whic i loved, the sprinkles add just the right amount of sweetness.
butterfingering: i'm usually jot a fan of cake donuts, but this is one i'd definitely have again. the vanilla cream adds the perfect balance to the chocolate and peanut butter!
raspberry romeo: whoever filled this donut deserves a raise. ugh, and the raspberry jelly is so good! 10/10
vegan glazed & chocolate ring: if i didn't know these were vegan, i'd swear they were the real thing. wow, first time a vegan donut hasn't distinctly tasted vegan.
lemonade stand: this is a limited time offer. super sweet, you'll definitely want to share this with a few friends.
glazed & chocolate ring: light and fluffy, the chocolate is to die for
sprinkle cake: again, not a fan of cake donuts, nothing special to report here. not too sweet, ideal for children
go-tart: weirdly taste just how I remembered poptarts tasting except super fluffy. 10/10 would recommend.
ring of fire: this was not as spicy as i expected, could be due to it being a cake donut, so heavier. the spice would definitely come throughif they made this it their original donut dough. the cinnamon sugar is delicious with a hint of spice at the very end.
voodoo doll: the combination of the raspberry filling and chocolate glazed đ delicious. this is my favorite of the...
Read moreI was so excited over this spot but quality was so inconsistent so after throwing away some donuts last year without eating due to tasting very old/bad, I stopped coming here. I now decided to give them another chance since I really love that they have vegan options & one of my vegan maple creams were indeed delicious. Great taste, good amount of filling so for a moment I was glad I decided to give them another chance thinking they got quality in check now. Well, that is, until I discovered the next one had literally no filling and by that I mean, after a few bites, I tore open the whole donut & there was nothing. And then one of the vegan portland also had almost none of it with just a tiny amount of filling in one corner. This time I decided to leave a review because multiple not filled properly in one single order is a red flag that there are issues regarding quality and with this happening after another bad experience previously that had already kept me away for quite some time just tells me that this is not a bad luck / one off situation & I was right to stop coming here. Saddens me honestly because we donât have many vegan options as is but Iâm not going to keep buying something gambling on whether Iâll be getting what I pay for not knowing whether itâll be good or not each time. They really need to work on quality control /...
Read moreThis was the only voodoo shop Iâve ever been to and I was highly disappointed. I consider myself a jelly, donut, connoisseur, and what they sell here is not a jelly donut, more like a flat pancake. The problem is it looks like they cook their donuts in the oil with the filling in the dough already. Any good Baker knows the filling goes in after the donut has been cooked and risen in the oil. Since they obviously are taking the lazy way out in this cooking process the Donut is flat and has a white circle on the exterior of the donut where the oil is inside prior to cooking. To me, this is quite disgusting and also tells me they do not cook their donuts on site because true bakers wouldnât do this. They are overpriced for the product that they present to the customers. When I said something to the girl at the counter about the white spot on all the filled donuts, she got defensive with me and said âthey are cooked, Do you want me to cut it open?â What she needs to do besides adjusting her attitude is to realize that it is a customers choice of where they want to spend their money and on what and they do not have to spend it there when the product that they sell is low quality crap. I will never be going back to this disappointing shop to spend my money on their overpriced, badly cooked crap! I truly donât know how theyâre...
