I rarely write a bad review. I was taught if you didn't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. Well exceptions need to be made. We arrived at the restaurant on a Saturday night at 6:00. We patiently wait approximately 15 minutes for our waitress to take our drink orders. We thought she had forgotten the order but around 20 minutes later we finally had something to drink. We place our food orders. of course they are out of certain items. We wait again as more and more time passes by, we ask multiple times about our appetizers. The appetizers finally arrive and then another long wait for our food. My food tasted like processed plastic. My wife's food was burnt, burnt to the point of black char on vegetables burnt! We heard 5 happy birthday celebrations conducted by the entire staff during our wait. It would be logical that the chef stay in the kitchen and not sing so the food doesn't get burnt. During our meal there were many empty tables that needed cleaned from the prior guest. At 8:00 we are finally able to leave, that is two hours in Applebees mostly waiting for service. When we are leaving the restaurant there is a wait for tables. Why are there so many empty uncleaned tables if customers are waiting to be seated? Will someone sing happy birthday again and leave the tables empty and unclean? I don't blame our waitress. She cant wait table, mix drinks, and be required to spend have the night singing happy birthday, I don't blame the cook either. This place is poorly managed, understaffed and poorly cleaned. Dalton has many mom and pop restaurants and chain restaurants as well in the same price point with better service, better food, and cleaner. I hope you make a better...

Ordered curbside pickup at Applebeeās in Dalton, GA, and I honestly think Iād have had a more tender meal gnawing on my carās leather seats. Everything in the bag was hard, dried out, and tough enough to qualify as survival rations. If this is the future of dining, then congratulations ā Applebeeās has perfected the art of gourmet shoe leather.
But wait, it gets better. They forgot items from my order, so I got the full curbside experience: sitting in my car, waiting⦠again⦠for them to finally bring out what shouldāve been there the first time. Nothing says āwe value your timeā like turning dinner into a parking lot endurance challenge.
The only āflavor surpriseā? The random almond slivers sprinkled in my chicken and cheese sticks. If I had a nut allergy, maybe that wouldāve been the quick escape I needed from this culinary hostage situation. Instead, I was left to suffer through food so dry it could probably outlast me in a time capsule.
Look, I didnāt come to Applebeeās expecting a five-star dining experience. But I did think my chicken might bend before it snapped in half like kindling. This wasnāt dinner ā it was a stress test for my teeth and patience.
If youāre into jerky masquerading as food, missing items, and the thrill of playing curbside roulette, then buckle up ā this place is your dream. Otherwise, save yourself the time, the money, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place was a 180 compared to my horrible experience at the Applebeeās in Opelika, AL. I first read some of the reviews on this location before deciding to go in and give Applebeeās another try. This is a newer restaurant that looks good inside and out with a lot of parking spaces.
The one thing that really stood out was how well the staff worked to help each other. When my food arrived, I asked for a condiment. The person serving me was not my waitress but she passed on the message to another waitress and I received my request in less than 2 minutes. The servers helped each other and fill drinks for their co-workers assigned table. This is how it should be in every restaurant. Servers often get a high maintenance table or customers. It could be little children crying or food being sent back. This takes his or her time away from other customers in the serverās section. This is when other co-workers or servers step in to fill drinks or bring requested items and help out. It is so pleasing to see a well trained staff that works efficiently.
I spoke to the manager (Bruce?) and he said that is how he trains his staff. Well Done!
My servers name was Tabatha. I will be back. Thanks for a pleasant meal and evening. (date and time- around 5 PM...
