IHOP — Restaurant in Dalton

My friend and I decided to pop in Friday for a sit down to chat over breakfast. The place was what I call 'COVID full,' just about every social distance seat was full. We were seated in Hannah's section and had wonderful service. Even being overwhelmed with orders the entire staff was extremely helpful and polite. If I had to pick a downside to the experience it would be the HORRIBLE behavior of the two people from Door Dash waiting for orders. One was telling the people waiting to be seated how slow and terrible the place was, she was also extremely rude to the staff when anyone tried to either explain what was taking so long or ask if they could do anything to help the wait. I actually heard one of them tell the server to go away when asked if she could help. I was told by the customers at a nearby table that they had been hearing similar behavior during their stay as well. I stared directly at the two Door Dash people the entire time we were having breakfast; I really wanted them to know that their behavior was noticed. I asked for a manager to tell her that the staff was being very professional and very helpful but I expected they might have complaints later. I also said it was likely that a general complaint about some one being rude was likely about me so the staff should not be penalized. On a side note - I raised my son with the concept that if you are not willing to be the first person to stand up for something do not be surprised that things do not change. With that in mind as my friend and I were leaving I told the remaining Door Dash person that had been chatting with the other (the one that had left was the louder of the two) that people in the service industry are not there to take things out on and if they (i mentioned the other Door Dash person) were going to be rude to staff they should be aware of who may be there when they do. Well, she started raising her voice and ordered me to leave saying I waited until everyone else had left. She also told me it was none of my business, to which I replied 'being a decent human being is everybody's business.' There were also a few vailed threats and she want to see the manger. I was headed out when I heard that so I came back in and waited for her to come up front so when she got there I told her the complaint was about me because I wanted to ensure the staff was kept out of it. Pros - the food was lovely, the staff was wonderful Cons - listening to the Door Dash people abusing the staff and bad mouthing to the people waiting to be seated. I’m never the type to leave a bad review because I understand things happen. But goodness. We got to IHOP at 7:30 we get seated whatever we didn’t even get a name a hello good morning nothing. I let it slide maybe she was having a rough morning..anyways my fiancé ordered steak with eggs and I ordered an omelette with hash browns. It was 8:40 when we got my hash browns and they were burnt and just tasted old, gross and honestly kinda cold when we got it. At this point I was really aggravated because the waitress never came to update us or even to say sorry for the wait. In fact when I was sitting down I was facing the kitchen and I literally catch her scratching her back with a KNIFE and putting it back with the other ones she had the audacity to turn back look at me and continue to do it. She probably did this about 3 times. At this point I was about to throw up for even sipping their coffee. I was stupid to pay and when my fiancé got home to eat his steak it was literally raw and smelled NASTY he went back for a refund at this point he wasn’t nice and the manger told him there was nothing she could do but they could get him something else he was disgusted and said no he just wants his money and she said just ask your bank to dispute it.. long story short please do NOT come here the service and people there were just so nasty and looked like they were on drugs. I work in customer service and get told every day to work on something and to see someone treat me and my fiancé like this rubbed me the wrong way. when he drops me off at work I was hungry aggravated and it just broke me into tears because some people are so ignorant and rude and I’m going out of my way every day to give someone the best customer service to get treated like this in the morning! I will NEVER EVER be back also our tummies hurt so bad and all we’ve had was basically coffee so imagine they probably don’t even clean the coffee...

Me and my 3 year old daughter waited over and hour for our food all we had was a couple eggs and a small pancake with 2 pieces of bacon when I received my food it was cold , the sweet tea literally tasted like water from the sink not sure why but I returned 2 of them before asking for a Pepsi which tasted flat it tasted just like if I was drinking syrup I’m very disappointed that I’m have to pay all this money for what I could of got at McDonald’s and I feel like it only gets worse everytime I come I won’t be coming back unless I’m hired in as a manager I WILL FIX THIS RESTAURANT I HOP so if you need a manager Im 29 years old I have 7 years experience as a crew leader in extrusion for Mohawk Industries it’s a billion dollar company and I was chose to run a crew and if you want I can do it for you to , honestly the only employee that looked worth keeping today was a skinny younger gentleman and he checked on all tables and helped other waitresses customers without hesitation the other 2 women stayed in the back the whole time as of right now I’m still sitting at the table and haven’t seen my waitress since she dropped off this plate of disgust but the currant time is “ 11:32 Friday, February 28,2025 at the location 1510 W Walnut Ave, Dalton GA , US 30702-3831.
