This place feigns importance nor does not respect a customers allergies! A lot of room for opportunity for their customer service and follow-up.
We ordered the salted cabbage and bean curd soup (Did not specify it had shrimp on the menu, and I am moderately allergic to shrimp). When the soup came out, we politely asked our server (bald headed guy) if they could change the soup since I mentioned I was allergic to shrimp. The new bowl of soup came back suspiciously quick, and to my fear when I was halfway thru my cup there was a little shrimp piece- seems like they just scooped out the shrimp from the previous bowl!
I work in hospitality, and I RARELY complain if I find customer service in a place I visit low-tier. Of course when our server stopped-by I let him know of the situation and apologized, however no follow-up from him after, did not even ask how I was doing if I am having allergic reactions (or dying!).My friends noticed he spoke to a lady in a suit and another server in glasses, because all three of them were looking at our table, and we thought there would be a follow-up from them, but nope! Did not even comp anything and charged us the full check.
I only had mild allergic reactions, itching and mild swelling of my lips—— BUT, What if someone else is SEVERELY ALLERGIC to shrimp? Do better Banana Island...
Read moreToday 7/14/21 at Banana Island, everything was fine until at the end of our meal. Our waiter was nice, no problem with him, the food was okay. My husband ordered sprite for drink & I just wanted water. Almost at the end of our meal, the host was passing by our table & my husband asked her for a refill of sprite (which we usually get at most of the restaurants we’ve eaten at), she said ‘oh no, we don’t refill, would you like another order of sprite’, in such an impolite manner. Since we we’re done eating, & we have already packed our left overs to go, we decided to get up & pay. Our bill was $106 for two person, he left a $10 bill on the table & we took our bill to the host by the entrance. As my husband was paying with his card, he added $4 more to the bill. The waiter took the $10 cash tip we left at the table to the host. When she saw it, she sarcastically said, ‘at least you left a 10 percent tip. So my husband told her about how unhappy he was about the refill, and how unethical & unprofessional for her to mention about the tip. She started to argue & told us if we didn’t like the service, we don’t have to come back. My husband told her, ‘well if I don’t like the service, I don’t have to give tip either, but I did. He told her he was only giving a tip because the waiter was nice. Wow...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.. The table was dirty, and the entire place smelled like a mix of burnt grease and neglect. We ordered, hoping the food would redeem the experience but were we wrong. It took forever to arrive, and when it did, it looked (and tasted) like something straight out of a microwavable TV dinner. My meal was cold, overcooked, and completely flavorless. My companion’s dish was drowning in oil, and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. As if the food wasn’t bad enough, the service was even worse. I know tipping is a thing in America, so i tipped $30.. mind you it was only two people and the bill was already expensive enough. they rolled their eyes like we were an inconvenience. By the time we got the bill, we were beyond ready to leave except, of course, they somehow overcharged us and then acted like it was our fault. I wouldn’t eat here again if you paid me. The food is a joke, the service is abysmal, and the whole place is an embarrassment. Do yourself a favor and avoid this dump like the plague. How are you a server with attitude. Might as well go become a substitute with zero knowledge of what...
