Taqueria El Gran Amigo — Restaurant in Daly City

It’s over 90 degrees outside. It’s cool in the food court. I have the Tamale Plate ($11.14). The tamales are good with good amount of chicken stuffing. The salad is fresh. The rice and beans are not salty, not greasy. It’s a very good and nutritious lunch at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended. Just one complaint—the very, very small fork and spoon prevent me to fully enjoy my meal. At least, with the Plate items we should have more decent fork at least. 8/32/2023

UPDATE 9/5/2024 Still this Taqueria deserves my 5 stars. After a work out and sauna at the gym I had a perfect dinner at this taqueria—fresh, nutritious, good tasting (not salty or greasy) and so reasonably priced.

Furthermore the owner gave me some extra Guacamole for my tacos and took care of my avocado addiction 😊 I had a Fish taco and a vegetarian taco for less than $10. The pictures don’t do justice because all the good stuff is under the lettuce. Btw, the chips are nice and light i finished the whole portion.

I will certainly return for a ‘strong’ lunch to get ready for my Inferno...

No reward for being a repeat customer. I went there one day I bought a super taco $4.25. The first time I got three sauces and chips. The second time time I got one sauce and chips. The third time I got one sauce and no chips. The fourth time same order no sauce was included and I had to ask one. I also asked for chips and she said, “for one taco, you get no chips” . She seemed bitter towards me for always buying just one taco. I didn’t do anything except being a repeat customer. I was disgusted with her behavior. She might be the owner and wanted more of my money but that is all I could afford. I’m hoping that she is just not a worker, because that is no way to treat a repeat customer.
