I checked out the new smoothie/juice bar Blend & Brew today and I was thoroughly impressed. The shop itself is clean and super cute. It’s small and has a laid-back vibe. The staff was friendly and welcoming; I was able to chat with one of the owners, Mayerli, and her knowledge of health, wellness and ingredients resonates with me. I ordered a sunset paradise smoothie and the Mediterranean avo bite- my friend got the power toast. The ingredients were fresh and tasted yummy! The wait time was minimal. 10/10 recommend. Recently opened, the place has a cool, modern vibe but they are still getting their footing. I ordered a coffee with milk and oddly, they weren't sure what I wanted. I ended up with an americano coffee with steamed milk for $6 instead of $3.50 large coffee. It was good but kind of bland. When I asked about it, they said they charge an extra dollar for milk. This is what a coffee shop should be. Some friends and I got a coffee here on Sunday and the atmosphere was wonderful. Clean with quick service, calm and jazzy lo-fi music, and a big bay window with benches and pillows gives a great view of the mural at Kennedy Park and even better people watching.
