I took my friend here because he helped me with a project. On the way we were talking about how much we loved the Texas Tonion. It was the first time to this location for both of us. And will be the last.
When the waitress finally came over and we were ready to order I waited for her to pull out a pen and pad. She looked at me and said "go ahead" We both ordered steak. I ordered mine medium. He order his rare. We got 2 sides with each meal. We also ordered the Texas Tonion. She repeated back to us so you want those steaks medium-rare, right? I said "no". And repeated how we wanted them. As soon as she left I said to my friend " I guarantee something will be wrong." Sure enough. We never got our appetizer. The one thing we were looking forward to. The steaks came out. Mine was rare (supposed to be medium) and his was RAW. He had to send his back and he got a new steak cooked correctly brought out by the manager. We never saw our waitress. We had to ask another server to get her when we needed something. She was too busy watching the basketball game at the bar. The only plus side was the manager took a percentage off the bill. Zach and his amazing staff at LongHorn Steakhouse in Danbury, CT went above and beyond in terms of food, service and atmosphere on a Thursday back in May 2023 for 20 other educators, 100+ students and I celebrating an early high school graduation luncheon!
It all started in late February when Zach helped me over the phone brainstorm this event for our high school seniors from NYC. Our school was planning a day trip to a nearby Danbury, CT indoor amusement park and I was in charge of the meal. With Zach's aid, we planned a prix-fixe menu that tantalized every person in our party - steak-enthusiasts, strictly-chicken folks, vegetarians and vegans, pescatarians and my more picky-eaters. After a warm welcome, each of the 20 tables started with warm bread and butter, and the pre-selected 2 appetizers. Students and staff had the freedom from the intimate four person booths to 8-person tables to sit with friends and classmates. Servers were swift and attentive to our whole party!
