Feeling under the weather, battling a relentless atmospheric rivers downpour, and enduring a drive between Walnut Creek and Danville and back again twice, my visit to this deli was anything but pleasant. The entire experience unfolded in front of disinterested staff members. The first being the dirty blonde-haired teenage girl who was unjustly rude from the onset of us entering the deli and the coworker, a tall light brown male, who watched and failed to rectify his coworkers' poor attitude. There was no management on that side of the delicatessen, and the lack of intervention raises serious questions about the overall workplace environment.
While I appreciate the idea of high schoolers gaining work experience in a customer service-oriented setting, it becomes disheartening when the service is marred by unwarranted rudeness. Realizing that this deli might be treating all its female patrons (the teenage girl was only rude to me, not my partner) poorly leaves me questioning the business's success. Despite my initial enthusiasm in recommending this place to friends, family, and coworkers, the regret now lingers. I hope others didn't face the same disrespectful treatment, and I wonder about the effectiveness of the management in running a customer-centric establishment.
I left a longer review on yelp as well if anyone else wants to read it. After reading some of the other reviews on her as well as yelp⦠it is clear to me there is a problem with your employees and training. As disheartening as it is to hear that other people struggled with your poor customer service, Iām glad that I am not alone, and that it wasnāt just me. I am not the issue. Your training and employees are. I hope that the girl that was rude to me, has a better day. I hope that you guys do not punisher. I hope that you help her learn How to be better at her job. No one should have to be that mad or that upset at a random stranger for no reason. I hope she gets to help that she needs. Unhinged behavior tells me that she probably was having a really rough day or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love Domenicoās! However, this new āweigh everythingā before you make the sandwich has proven to be an āachilles healā when it comes to their (what used to be) stellar product. Iām shocked to see their sandwiches now because of the lack of deli meat. I would say, the amount of meat has been ācut in halfā (at least). Itās such a skimpy amount that itās hard to order a sandwich on one of their delicious freshly baked rolls, unless you prefer mostly bread, condiments, & produce. As a paying customer, I donāt think you should have to pay another $5 just to get an ample amount of deli meat. (Please donāt use āinflationā as a justification or counter argument. š¤¦š»āāļø) The last few times Iāve visited Domenicoās, Iāve paid for sandwiches with a borderline ridiculous amount of meatā¦(for myself and family members.) The service is always great! Even with a steady line out the door, the employees are usually friendly & welcoming. Iām not trying to leave a āback-handed compliment,ā but Iām also not going to give them one or two stars. I wish theyād āfixā the portion control issues! (The scale may need to be recalibrated every hour?) Iām not saying to give customers the Fred Flintstone treatment when it comes to portions, but it does need...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my go to sandwich spot until today. I noticed half way through my sandwich that it had nuts in one of the deli meats and I let the staff know. They brought out their āmanagerā and she got defensive told me that it always comes with nuts in the meat, which is really weird because Iāve always order the same and have asked about it in the past since I have a nut allergy.
Anyway, I wasnāt trying to argue with her, but she gave me the well what do you want me to do about it attitude. No apologies about the situation or even asked if I was okay. At this point, I just wanted my refund so that I can quickly go to urgent care. I was really concerned about my itchy throat. Even a customer next to me was more concerned and asked if I needed benedryl or anything. The rest of the staff the ignored me even though I was having a reaction.
This experience really left a bad taste in my mouth. Itās really sad because I really liked the sandwiches here but I donāt want to support a business where the staff doesnāt care about customers allergic reactions. It felt like a huge bother to even get the manager to give me a refund. I donāt know if I want to go back any time soon until they give their staff some...
