We came in Sunday evening. I am handicap and use a scooter chair to get around. After a long wait someone finally came to seat us. She took us to a table in the middle of other filled tables and asked, "Is this alright?" Of course I said no because I can't get my chair in that little space. Finally we were given a table that would work. I didn't understand why we were being shoved into a tight table when there was plenty of seating empty. We place our orders for beverages and for our entrées. Our waitress never introduced herself. Our food was brought out but not by the waitress who took the order. We were never asked did we need butter, sour cream or anything else. She just dropped the food and disappeared. We waited and waited...our food getting colder. I finally headed toward the kitchen. I saw a waitress and ask her was she our waitress to which she said no and she headed into the kitchen to find ours. This waitress pops back out asking did we need something. I told her we needed butter and honey mustard. She goes back in the kitchen. She pops back out to say, "well she is busy and don't have time to wait on you." I go back to the table and the lady dining with us gets up and goes into the kitchen and she comes back with a butter basket. Then she goes back for honey mustard...about that time our waitress comes by to ask how is everything? I told her not good & why. She comes back with honey mustard stopped into containers with it running all over the sides and leaves. We eat delicious food! We enjoyed the food greatly. We got to the register to pay. We were asked was everything good. I responded no that service was terrible and I asked for a manager. She says I think the manager is still here. Then she proceeds to ring us up and my husband pays. She never said I'll get the manager or anything. I waited around and sho stood there. She rang up 2 more couples, then standing at the register she hollered out someone's name about 5 times. (I couldn't make out what she was even saying.) Another couple comes to pay and she begins to ring them up. She still never acknowledges me with any kind of comment. After 15 minutes, I left. With rude treatment like this, I have NO interest in returning. A manager should be on duty each shift and accessible to the customers. And rudeness to the customers should not...
Read moreWell let's see, first we were apprehensive about coming back to Mayflower, because our last experience before they're closed was not well, but our friends said they had improved and the food was great. Now to our visit, we were seated promptly then had to wait 10 minutes for our waitress and prior to her coming to us she attended to another couple who was just been seated before she came to our table. Next she was given a drink order in which she didn't have to get correct. We gave our order at that time ordered two meals and an appetized. Our advertiser which was soup was delivered with the meal and was not hot. The soup was clam chowder, chowder is a thick soup, this was more like an oyster soup with a thin base. The meals, for a whitefish and popcorn shrimp fried was old and you could tell he'd been sitting in the back for a while, breading was overly done, The second meal was boiled shrimp and it was overcooked supposed to be hot and it was cold, both meals had cold bake potatoes the butter would not even melt on the potato. The waitress was requested to bring water to refill our glasses and she did not show back up at all. Needless to say this will be our last visit to Mayflower I'm disappointed in the service and the quality of food that we were presented. Now for a observation, you would think with two new seafood restaurants in town they would do something to brighten the restaurant and to make it more appealing, while waiting for our food we noticed that nothing had been done to clean brighten or stick up the restaurant and even to the point that if you look at the lighting in the restaurant they were so negligent that every fixture had multiple different kinds of light bulbs in them, you would think they would have been more pride in the reopening other than existing restaurant to return...
Read moreMayflower Danville, VA Seated immediately which is always nice and why i gave 2 stars Took a lil long to get appetizer and food. We all ordered 3 baked spaghettis. I think the waitress was new. She advised us that the spaghetti came with a salad and a side. She pointed out the sides on the back of the menu. We ordered fries, sweet potato and a loaded baked potato. The sides came after the food and the fries were cold. At the end of the meal, we boxed up all of the food we could not eat. The waitress brought the check, and I noticed a $1.99 charge on the bill. I inquired and was told it was for the loaded baked potato, First of all i should've been told it was an upcharge since i was told where to order the sides from I politely told the waitress that i was not willing to pay an extra $1.99 for cheese on a potato. The waitress left and spoke to the lady at the register. She returned and asked for the baked potato back lol!!! I opened the bag and the to-go container and put the baked potato in her hand. I asked if i would get another side in place of the potato and was told yes. I just told her to replace with a plain baked potato. She proceeded to the kitchen. When she returned, she advised me that she could not replace with another side because the spaghetti did not come with a side. LOL!!! WOW! What an experience. Talk about CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I thought it was very unsanitary to take a potato out of a to-go container and take back to the kitchen. If the restaurant is doing that bad, wonder if it was given to another...
